>Beijing: China's top think tank has turned to a New York Times best seller to understand what drives US President Donald Trump.
>Amid Trump's increasingly hostile tweets about China, as a $US100 billion ($136 billion) trade war escalates, the Chinese Academy of Social Sciences (CASS), the top advisory group to Chinese leaders, has revealed it was doing "a lot of research" on the election of Trump.
>Nancy Isenberg's best seller White Trash - The 400 year untold history of class in America, is at the top of the reading list at the academy's Institute of American Studies.
>"They think Chinese stole their jobs and companies moved from the US to other countries," said Zhao Mei, the managing editor of the Chinese Journal of American Studies, summarising the main thesis of White Trash.
>In Ohio, "white people" haven't worked for several generations and don't leave Ohio, she told reporters at a briefing on the trade war in Beijing on Monday.
>"Trump represents that political class, and I don't know how China should respond," she said.
>Isenberg has been in constant demand with US media since 2016 to explain the phenomena that put Trump in the White House.
>China was "confused" about how to respond to Trump's trade demands because the US had "not shown sincerity" in negotiations, said Wu Baiyi, director of the Institute of American Studies.
>In the opening months of the trade dispute, Chinese media had been instructed to avoid personal criticism of Trump. But this has changed, after Beijing accused Trump of backing out of a deal the Chinese negotiators believed they had struck in Washington in May to lower the trade surplus and avoid further tariffs.
>As talks with a Chinese delegation began in Washington last week, the Trump administration imposed another $US35 billion in tariffs on Chinese goods including semiconductors.
>On Monday, Trump appeared to confirm the view that he was no longer interested in a deal, and was focused on the domestic political battle.
>"They want to talk,” Trump said, referring to Chinese officials. “It’s just not the right time to talk right now, to be honest with China.”
>The potential for Trump to carry through his next threat, of imposing a 25 per cent tariff on an extra $US200 billion in Chinese consumer goods next month, has rattled Beijing.
>The Chinese researchers said unlike the US's earlier trade war with Japan, over manufactured goods, the rise of global supply chains meant the US and Chinese economies were intertwined and Trump's tariffs would also hit US companies and consumers.
>China's newspapers have prominently reported testimony by 360 US companies before the US Trade Representatives Office this week about the damage they think a 25 per cent tariff on Chinese goods -ranging from handbags to baseball gloves - would cause their businesses.
>Yu said China wouldn't retaliate by extending the trade war to other areas, such as finance.
>Instead, China would wait it out. "If you kill a thousand enemies you will lose 800 of your own soldiers," he said of the looming $US200 billion in tariffs.
>Cui Fan, a member of the China International Economic and Trade Arbitration Commission said China should speed up its reform and opening up of markets, and should be open to new rules within the World Trade Organisation system. He said the worst situation would be the US abandoning the global trading system.
Do the Chinese think we are white trash, Jow Forums?

Trump is trying to insulate the United States from the global collapse that is coming because of automation. I'm surprised the chinks haven't figured it out yet. The only thing they can do now is beg for their lives.

Cant wait for all the liberals to gloat about this so I can ask why would poor Americans care for the opinions of people who boil dogs alive to eat them and will hunt all animals to extinction to remedy their small dicks?

>China was "confused" about how to respond to Trump's trade demands Good, maybe they should've read Sun Tzu.
Ian Ross
checked but I think that's her polite Jewish way of saying Trump is a poopy face because he's not going along with what the globalists thought the plan was going to be, and now everybody who went to globalist school to learn globalist doctrine is off kilter because they got indoctrinated and don't really know how to actually do anything competently or creatively.
David Rivera
>China was "confused" about how to respond to Trump's trade demands because the US had "not shown sincerity" in negotiations
Oh, so now the Chinese want to be "sincere"? After they've stolen our intellectual property for years instead of paying for it and cheated us with poor quality of goods... now they want to have a "sincere" business relationship?
Jonathan Price
So being "confused" is a lie.
Whatever, china is not in a position to negotiate anyway.
Jacob Collins
I don't think it's a lie, really, but it clearly builds in to the ongoing narrative that Trump is a bad thing because his style is to be intentionally ambiguous and to make sudden unilateral moves, which is not at all what the round table type folks are used to having to deal with.
China is in a position to negotiate, but for sure the US has a tremendous hand and now we have somebody who knows a thing or two about how to play it instead of just giving everything away.

I like how they think "we won't insult him and he'll give us what we want, because hes incredibly vain." Trump decides the deal is no good. Doesnt give them exactly what they want, so they immediately start insulting him to the length that they associate him and the people who voted for him as "white trash". And then to top it off, our own media grabs ahold of that and makes the same associations. These people are scum
James Stewart
You and me both, but they use these kinds of publications as sort-of a big global talking shop, and so that method of consensus generation takes a long time to shift course. So part of what's going on here is testing the waters to find out how much international coordination there might be for where and how to work together to rein Trump in or where other avenues for analysis or deal-making might lie.
The world was already in a pretty precarious state where they'd finally sort of swept the 2007/2008 financial crisis under the rug enough to start focusing back in on Agenda 2030 and proceeding with the Yinon plan in the ME and trying to cuck up Russia while the getting was good. And now Trump's come in and right from the get go killed TPP and TTIP, no climate treaty, on and on. So they really don't know what to do or how to play it, and even the domestic US political system is a big question mark as far as what's going to happen next. Meanwhile, you've got this wave of nationalism and populism that finally sparked throughout the West and they don't really know how to contain or play that yet, either.
Hunter Brown

How the hell is nobody outraged that an (((Isenberg))) published a book titled 'White Trash'?
I mean it's not as bad as 'nigger', but it's basically the same as if some white dude published a book called 'porch monkey'. Anti-whiteness is getting ridiculous at this point
>In Ohio, "white people" haven't worked for several generations and don't leave Ohio, she told reporters at a briefing on the trade war in Beijing on Monday
Wut? I live in Ohio. The only people who don't work for several generations are the niggers.
Ian Hernandez
>In Ohio, "white people" haven't worked for several generations What horseshit. While it's true that there are pockets of white trash that don't work, particularly in East Kentucky and certain rural towns peppered throughout, Ohio several generations ago was one of the epicenters of scientific and engineering progress. Their unemployment and productivity are still reasonably fine today, and the problems they do have are mostly due to black migration in the 1950s and after.
Thomas Sanders
>They think we stole their jobs because we stole their jobs Well, you guys and the Mexicans.
Jace Davis
I agree. Seems like all focus is on trump himself, which is great.
Also just on this note, it fucking pisses me off that EU people were criticizing trump on chinese steel tariffs when they have crazy tariffs themselves. >The European Union has slapped tariffs of up to 73.7% on Chinese steel after manufacturers were forced to cut jobs due falling prices and demand for the material amid an influx of cheap imports from Asia.
>The EU has agreed to impose import duties of between 13.2% and 22.6% on Chinese hot-rolled steel, which is used in pipelines and gas containers, and 65.1% and 73.7% on heavy plates, which are used in civil engineering projects.
Nobody likes hypocrites.
Landon Powell
I think so. I mean, that's kind of the status quo, but they obviously weren't expecting a Trump to appear or to win or to just start swinging his dick around like this.
I would think that they were just sort of hoping something like this wouldn't happen, but that it could happen at any time for no particular reason. But the more you watch these people, the more you start to think they're living in such a separate reality of their own making that they actually are completely flat-footed when the big unweildy systems they put in place don't "just work somehow."

the US heartland just needs a healthy injection of working-class socialist politics, and they'll be fine again in a generation or 2
Joseph Campbell
That could be dangerously globally destabilizing, but rest assured there are a variety of plans on the table for causing internal social and economic strife in China that are a lot more sophisticated than whipping up some muzzies or whatever. I personally would prefer that we worry a little more about descalating existing conflicts than firing up new ones, though.

It really makes you wonder how long it's going to take the world to figure out that Trump's game is kind of predictable in its own way. Oh well, for the time being party on. It's a tremendous opportunity for anybody who wants to be creative about reworking what the future could look like.

>>Instead, China would wait it out. "If you kill a thousand enemies you will lose 800 of your own soldiers," he said of the looming $US200 billion in tariffs. Globalist (communist) corporations and bureaucracies were focused very very hard on enslaving most of the world population under a new directed top-down command economy:
>Cashless society >everyone in debt >mass unemployment >basic income to drive consumerism with no jobs >mass media advertising/marketing to direct spending and resources >You do what WE tell you to do. You buy what WE tell you to buy
This is what the commie faggots hiding behind the capitalist and globalist nametag were planning. If you spoke out, no more money. Not from the government, not from private entities. You just starve to death or someone else looks after you, or maybe they starve to death too. All your money comes from the government and can be cut off at any time, and there's no hard cash so you can't work under the table or trade for goods or services without doing it through their command economy.
It was going to be a world of, "oh gee we're sorry but thanks to global warming/ozone/fearoftheweek we're going to have to move you over to rations of insect meal and squeeze you into an 800sqft apartment with 20 other people. I'm sure you understand citizen. It's for the good of all of us." While the administrator lives in a gold plated mansion, owns a fleet of yachts, the entire downtown core of a city, and laughs at the rubes who fell for it.
Globalism is codeword for worldwide communism.
Bentley Adams
Exactly right, my friend. And that's just a stepping stone to transhumanism. What we have now with the internet and Trump being a spanner in the infernal machine is quite the opportunity to decide whether we really want to wind up at that final destination or not.

none of that is needed. a quick crash course in american politics on the republican side. its 1/3 racists who actively support ethnic cleansing like rand paul and lindsey graham. these faggots are bolstered by retards on the left in hollywood like tina fey. these are all names you know. it was in the news letter (asian times)
ok so these faggots bribe the military to be nigger faggots and they have a few beers and laughs and think this affects how a war with a enemy who has guns, bombers and subs will play out . then they do something stupid and then run away and say we didnt tell them to do it im sorry they throw money at you which is 3/4 of how you grew through the 90s- early 2000s and that was before you grew as a nation
now here is the important part. the average americans concept of what long term memory is is 3 months. asians it like 4 decades. so their gold fish level memory keeps them from understanding we have done all of this before and they lost.
so this will only end when you kill them off as a people per nation with a range of different methods or you beat them in a war. turnabout is fair play . remember the time canada tried to sell you guys mad cow beef but you were just processing it and selling it to the UK. yea just think really hard what the human body doesnt like and how you can introduce people to it . now that 1.3 seconds have passed 1/4 asians have a specific chemical or element in mind and a vector for its distribution. the rest bad asians. you arent beat enough
Ryan Carter
While true, Trump's proposition of doing some serious infrastructure spending is a good one if done properly to continue the approach of trying to goose the US into a good position to weather whatever upcoming storm there might (and I would say will) be. Goodness knows our infrastructure is badly neglected outside of a UN Agenda 21 type future, and if just setting up an environment for the magic hand of the free market to want to invest that sort of thing on its own doesn't wind up working out then better we do a big temporary make-work program than just QE and shoring up bank balance sheets as was done under Obama, or dumping more money into the military-industrial complex to fight more wars for Israel.

I do not necessarily agree with the article, however a vast majority of Ohio is indisputably a shithole that is filled with trashy buildings and trashy people. For fun go into google maps or 3d view or street view and just start at any random place in Ohio... Pic related.

Here is quality real estate in Ohio. People in Ohio are also very Low I.Q. and have lots of mental illness problems... Someone actually lives in this and thought it would look good to put merry christmas and spraypaint their shit barn they live in. Lead pipes, lead paint and chemical exposure is probably partly to blame just as it is in Michigan. It does not have anything to do with Trump support or support for other candidates of politics necessarily, Ohio is straight up just a shit hole for the most part.
This is true almost everywhere in America. I like Columbus and parts of Cleveland.
Julian Ortiz
Lead pipes aren't dangerous in and of themselves if it's just plain water. It's when they dope up the water supply that it gets leached out into the water. Fluoridation in particular will leach it even out of the lead-based solder used on copper piping.

This looks an awful lot like fake news. There is no "Chinese Journal of American Studies" published by the Chinese Academy of Social Sciences. There is an "American Studies Quarterly," however, and the editor-in-chief is Huang Ping, not "Zhao Mei." Finally, the director of the Institute of American Studies isn't "Wu Baiyi" - it's Wang Jisi.
It's not automation that will cause a global collapse, it's the debt driven economic model that relies on unsustainable growth.
