Why are so many of you statist cucks?
If you don't like the way YouTube, Twitter, or Facebook are treating you than move to another platform or build your own.

Gotta hand it to the Mises Institute, on this issue they have been self consistent to a fault

kys

There's nothing stopping any of you from starting your own platform. Even if you're poor you can pull yourselves up by your bootstraps and save the money to do so.

The issue is that, if they do censor, they lose their “common carrier” legal designation. This would make them subject to being sued for libel for things said on their platform. That’s the end game, suing those faggots to death for the shit they pump into leftists’ heads.

So first off, OP, you gotta differentiate between publishers, communities, and platforms. In the case of the latter you need to further differentiate bit players and natural monopolies.

A natural monopoly platform for social networking, e.g. Youtube Twitter Facebook, is essentially the equivalent of a public square on the Internet. Yes, these spaces were build by private corporations, but they're also composed of thousands of pieces of open source software and are running on top of infrastructure that was built and paid for or at least subsidized by the state in many places. It's fair to say that they're not truly privately owned spaces in a complete sense of the term - in fact, by offering their services for free they further cement this.

Bit players are more like public houses than public squares - subject to much of the same law but able to be a bit more selective because of factors of scale. Communities (which might be on top of a platform, or standalone) are much more like private clubs.

Yes

The statist courts are immoral in the first place. The only way suing these companies would be acceptable would be if the courts were privatized.
The only monopoly is the government monopoly on force.

en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Section_230_of_the_Communications_Decency_Act

Kill yourself retard.

Get rocked, loser nerd

Those laws have no bearing on me as a sovereign citizen you statist cuckold.

> build your own.

It's been tried, but the problem is that you can't just go build a new public square in the middle of town. People are set in their ways; it took them ages to even get used to the Internet at all. The idea of going to some other website they don't know how to use is foreign and scary to them, which artificially weights control of public opinion in the favour of established players.

You've got that faggot ancap flag on so let me put it in terms you can understand: this is like saying "gee, don't like my onerous private highway tolls that are selectively applied based on the manufacturer of your car? how about your build your own highway, asshole". It's not actually feasible to do this.

Consider too, that these networks are loss-leaders for their companies in many ways. Some ridiculously high percentage of Google's efforts for new products are simply cancelled if they can't get enough eyeballs to make the ads pay off sufficiently.

Why are you still shit posting here after getting destroyed every day.

>The statist courts are immoral in the first place.

It's like you literally don't understand what sovereignty is or means. "Immoral"? If they have more force than you, they decide what moral is and isn't, bucko.

I'm for getting rid of anything the left likes.

The left likes regulation.

>Jow Forums unironically believes that private companies don't have the right to gas chamber whoever they want.
>Why are so many of you statist cucks?
If you don't like the way YouTube, Twitter, or Facebook are gas chambering people then move to another platform or build your own.

Congress has the right to regulate interstate commerce.

Also, I fixed your "than", you stupid nigger.

get a tripcode so I can bathe in your seethes when Trump regulates you into your grave, commie faggot nigger

Attached: 65435.jpg (1636x750, 184K)

>calling me a commie
You are the commie.
Here's another commie national SOCIALIST

This is the proper reasoning. To expand, their "public forum" protections prevent them from censoring speech. They aren't a private platform at that point. They have to choose between either:

1) Public space that can't censor speech they don't like.
OR
2) Private space where they are free to censor to their hearts content but are liable for any libel/slander/etc.

get a trip
your little safe space world is going away bitch
choke on it

>The left likes regulation.

So does most of the right. Try running a nation without it - it would just be chaos. You think you'd do well in chaos, but in reality you'd get raped and murdered within the first week or two.

> They have to choose between either:

I think you mean "they SHOULD have to choose between either...", but clearly they don't, because they're just doing what they want right now.

Regulations like no rioting after 4:30pm.

>N-NO YOU
You're the faggot, and the day of the kindle has come.

They've already been stoned for ten minutes at that point, who would even want to riot

However, they are being accused of playing by the rules of both a public and private company at the same time and I think that is the issue

>Potentially even more interesting is that “the Internet Association, a trade group that represents Twitter, Facebook Inc, Amazon.com, and Alphabet Inc, filed a brief in the case earlier this month that did not back Trump or the blocked users but urged the court to “limit its decision to the unique facts of this case so that its decision does not reach further than necessary or unintentionally disrupt the modern, innovative Internet.”

>But that would be strange, because the First Amendment doesn’t only apply to Trump (and/or government officials). It applies to everyone, including Twitter, Facebook, Amazon, and Alphabet. Or does it? Well, not according to the Internet Association:

>“Despite any First Amendment status that this court might find in the ‘interactive spaces’ associated with President Trump’s account, Twitter retains authority to revoke access to both his account and the account of any user seeking to comment on President Trump’s account.”

>Hmm. So Trump can’t block people from his own Twitter account, but Twitter can do whatever it wishes to that same account.

theautomaticearth.com/2018/08/social-media-vs-the-constitution/

They don't like laws but like regulations. My brain hurts trying to keep up with those retards.

>ancaps unironically believe that governments don't have the right to do whatever the fuck they want to private companies
lol, enjoy living in a dumb fantasy land

B-but the Terms of Service say we can do whatever we want, are you some sort of anti-semite?

Attached: 785.png (600x770, 129K)

>Why don't you just make your own banks, goyim? Why not make your own internet?

I'm certain that the government would readily provide me with all of the advantages they have provided these companies. I absolutely sure these monolithic global entities would refrain from placing barriers in the way of new competitors forming.
Lets take a look at how this has worked recently. Anybody remember Hatreon, Freestartr, etc? How's Gab doing? I imagine they having any issues with the restrictions Microsoft is putting on them.
Fucking libertarian sentiment is going to be the downfall of the west if people dont wise up quickly.

This man is my president

Do other natural monopolies, such as power utilities, have the right to cut your power off if you post on Jow Forums? No? Then the same standard applies to de facto monopolies such as Youtube et al. that censor speech, and they should be regulated as such.

I'd rather use state power to force Facebook, Twitter and Youtube to not censor content, and if they don't like it, they can go found their own country.

Twitter is not a private company. It is a common carrier, treated akin to phones. They are legally not allowed to censor.

There's nothing stopping me from utilizing state power, either. except a retarded abstract ideology to which I don't even subscribe.

Private companies don't have the right to censor speech in a public space.

youtu.be/rXYFRFAsa50

I wouldn’t, I would die of sleep deprivation after a month

>state power is immoral because of muh abstract idealism
Fuck off, hippie.

>Those laws have no bearing on me
Yeah, I seriously doubt you can resist the force of the state and its enforcement mechanisms.
>b-but muh slave morality
No one cares.

Is that a branch of the government?

Of course. That's why Ted Cruz's line of questioning was so important during the Facebook hearing. And why the Berg avoided answering it.

>Soviet Union censors dissenters and lets millions of its citizens starve
>OMG!!!!11GOMMUNISM111!!1SO EBIL
>GovCorp™ Voluntarily™ voids your FreeSpeech™ account and lets you Starve™ because you were late on your McPayment™ by a day
>FREE MARKET™ SOLVES EVERYTHING!!11!!!11!

A corporate charter is a special government grant, not an automatic right. If these companies want to do business in the US, they better start fucking respecting core American values like free expression. Or we WILL shut them the fuck down/use antitrust to break them up/etc.

As a customer I have the right to shit on these service providers as much as I want. Now fuck off

Implying the United States™ Government™ will do anything

>censor
At least your calling it what it is and didn't make up a new left word for it.

>Allowing corporations to think for you and to silence opposition so that they can have maximum profit margins and a de facto slave class
Libertarians and Anarcho-memes are unironically the cucked ones.

google, facebook, and twitter don’t have common carrier status

you might wish they were a “public square” but legally they are not

Social media and tech giants are private businesses, but use government funded infrastructure. Phone companies are private businesses, but use government funded infrastructure. Banks are private businesses, but use government funded infrastructure.

If service providers could cancel the phone of any individual with whom they disagreed politically, there would be public outrage. If banks were allowed to close the accounts of any individual with whom they disagreed with politically, they would be public outrage. For the moment, leftist faggots like you still use the 'private business' argument, but you will soon be BTFO for all eternity by anti-trust laws.

>google, facebook, and twitter don’t have common carrier status
With Trump as their biggest enemy that can change soon enough.

it could but it won’t, he’s owned by big biz

Something something facism is a merger of corporate and state power - mussolini

He hates Google, and wants to destroy Bezos because of his liberal paper in DC. Those businesses have no power over him.

Free speech is an unalienable right which means it can not be signed away
So long as you are not breaking the law, the First Amendment trumps a EULA or TOS

Usenet is still alive. And if we wanted/needed to, we could build some adequate message boards using gopher. Just because no one does, doesn't mean no one can.

Free speech applies to govt and not corporations you highschool dropout dipshit

Free speech is an axiom of the constitution you cant censor free speech just because its "private property" or free speech doesnt exist

99% of the time youre using private services and private business infrastructure public property doesnt even have to exist

there would be only controlled speech everywhere you go

Its not statist to enforce the basic axiom of free society that you cant squelch people

Fuck your private property freedom is more important

>Calls authoritarians cucks
>Dude who gives a shit that private corporations can censor you, free market bro

The moment they took billions of dollars in taxpayer funded government subsidies they ceased being a private company

Attached: 1535423310024.jpg (1024x576, 45K)

The internet was built to route around censorship.

KKKKKKKKKKKKKKKIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIKKKKKKKKKKKKKKEEEEEEEEEEEELLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLL

Attached: 1534659970804.jpg (640x640, 41K)

Can't have it both ways nigger, either companies are free not to serve blacks or companies have to be neutral.

Why are people such corporate shills that they even remotely give respect to the its a private business they can do whatever they want meme

Hotels and malls are assholes theyll kick you out for filming or anything

They shouldnt be allowed to just kick everyone out

Its what weak people do they have to kick you out to show dominance

>if you open your platform to the public, you are bound by public conventions
>murder on your private property is still murder
Bait is poor bait.

Wasn't every company that gave Alex the boot publicly funded at least in part?

gopher n.
Software following a simple protocol for tunneling through a TCP/IP
internet.

Welcome to Gopherspace!

With one click of your browser you've just taken several years back in
Internet time. Close your eyes and grip your terminal. Imagine there's
no Websites (it's easy if you try). Imagine that there's a Commodore 64
on your desk, or maybe a 386.

Now open them again.

You're in the year 1991, when University of Minnesota computer scientists,
fed up with the limitations of FTP for downloading files and the overhead
of having to log into computers for everything, decided to come up with
a friendlier method of accessing data over the then largely vacant and
much smaller Internet. The result was Gopher, a simple and easy to
understand menu system that allowed once hideously complicated systems
and services to be strung together for straightforward usage. And Gopher
Was Good.

In fact, Gopher was so good that for several years, Gopher sites sprang up
all over. You could get weather reports on Gopher, news, mailing lists,
even software..

But Gopher's still out there. And what's more, you'll find it surprisingly
useful, even years after the Web became a household word. Why?

* It's easy to set up.
* It's easy to write content for and facilitates organization.
* It doesn't need much system power to run -- either from the server or
from your computer. It can run on systems with little CPU power or memory.
* It supports many things that the Web does, even if it looks less attractive.
You can still view images, search and download programs, and ...
* ... since Gopher has less data to transfer, it's frequently faster.

Save the Gopher! Explore Gopherspace with Veronica-2 and find out about
the hidden world the Gophers once dug. And think how different the world would
be if that darn Mosaic had never been written ... :-)

What do you not understand about unalienable right?
Technically, nondisclosure agreements are not even binding under the Constitution
Just because the Government or corporations attempt to legislates away our rights does not make it Constitutional
Free Speech applies to everyone you halfwit fascist nigger

If a restaurant has to serve niggers against their will, then so too should Kikebook do business with Alex Jones.

What's Zuckerbergs problem, anyway? Let people say their piece and if the point is truthful, it will withstand scrutiny. It's not Zuckerberg's job to resolve truthiness.

Trump needs to start pulling federal government web pages off the platform, and just say, "Fuck you Zuckerberg. Free speech works both ways."

I think private companies need less power

Theres too much respect for private property

They kick people and ban people for unjust reasons

Im talking about irl stores or even my local mcdonalds put a cap of 30 minutes and they have a security guard to kick people out

Its hell on earth once you allow private business to have total power because its muh property

The left has spent 70 years telling companies exactly what they can and cannot do in the name of their retarded ideology.

It's time we give them a taste of their own medicine.

>There's nothing stopping any of you from starting your own platform

Can you name a single american based competitor to youtube? Vimeo doesn't count since it's paid to host.

get coptered you crony capitalism enabling fuck

Attached: 1515397106260.png (1000x1000, 532K)

My local walmart has a security guard just looking at you when you walk in like youre a criminal and has police cars that patrol the parking lot

And this is just normal what people have accepted

Its like TSA at airports which didnt exist before but now youre like an automatic criminal

private business shouldnt be able to ban people for whatever they want

A lot of these companies have taken federal grants and all other sort of public support. So although they are legally private, the public should have a vested interest in subverting these social monopolies.

Actually, it was built for the military to have many alternative ways to communicate if there was a nuclear war and nodes were taken out. The system can automatically route around destroyed nodes.

Private doesnt give you the right to squelch free speech in the constituion

It doesnt say you shall have the right to freedom of speech unless its on private property then youre fucked

liveleak.com/
eat shit and take a helicopter ride you fucking communist

They exist pretty much as a place to host videos that youtube won't host. You understand "mutually exclusive" or are you a brainlet?

>Congress shall make no law respecting an establishment of religion, or prohibiting the free exercise thereof; or abridging the freedom of speech, or of the press; or the right of the people peaceably to assemble, and to petition the Government for a redress of grievances.

It doesn’t say you have right to shit you ignorant faggot, just that congress can’t make laws forcing you to stfu

People just ha e stockholm syndrome from countless years of being told what to do if the property owner tells you to leave or a security guard then you have to go or you go to prison for trespassing

Thats the only reason anyone respects something as bullshit as a private company can ban speech

that’s called a competitive niche

The Surveillance state is a major infringement on our right to privacy as stated in the Fourth Amendment, along with the constant data collection and monitoring by big tech companies

Right because the founders wanted the private companies doing the squelching

Hahahahahaha no they shohld be kicked from the country for not believing in freedom of speech

d.tube

The only reason they exist is because of videos like gore that youtube decided not to host.

Anclaps should be put into the gas chamber too.

oh mein gott you fucking shill.
Companies are brainwashing the entire west. They are basically a monopoly at this point right now.
We have our own platforms but nobody who doesn't care about politics will join, so normalfags are getting brainwashed without an end or opposition.
>why should I leave twitter where all my friends are for gab?

But that's my point. What's happening with FB and Twitter and other "public access" sites is simple node deletion. Those nodes can be restored in different places using different protocols. Most home computers now have a much greater capacity for serving files than servers did 10-15 years ago. Using the right protocols, files (even video and audio) can easily be served up without Youtube, Facebook, or any other commercial carriers. The system is working as intended, except people aren't keeping up with advances in the hardware/software.

Meme fag, sage all meee flag threads... Guaranteed to be a slide thread.

News dumbarse, news, read the fucking rules cunt!

I've heard of it but only through Jow Forums. It's hard to believe it could be a real competitor to youtube unless they fuck up like myspace or digg.

Also I wouldn't be surprised if it was funded by google itself so that they could say there's some competition.

>Why are so many of you statist cucks?
Yes, just let monopolists aggregate more power and do whatever they want.

this is what white women should look like

Attached: aryan gf.webm (537x720, 2.68M)

>leftwing shills think their retarded tactics work

If you don't take the First Amendment to your Constitution as moral gospel and a principle all Americans should hold to in all spheres, private or otherwise, you should be thrown into the ocean and told to live in Cuba or across the boarder to Canada or Mexico

because these people make the rules, see disney copyright issues and much much more. once a company is big, it directs the government (through """"""""charity""""""""")

shit bait
they brake the regulations they operate under and violate anti-trust laws
