Bavaria is still based. FW is basically a more value-based conservative CSU. And at least the CSU has been active in federal politics to counter Merkels ideas. I wouldn't shit to much on Ankündigungshofer, he is at least partly responsible for the change in attitude of the populace, remember his "rule of the unlawful in refugee policy". I also like that Bavaria has it's own Border Police Force again, albeit it rather symbolic due to the cucked federal government.

Who is the bigger problem, the left who are open about their "refugees welcome" shit and their "no borders" idiocy... or the CSU which lies to the population about "border controls" when I can just cycle or walk across from Austria to Bavaria unchecked because there are only 3 streets checked out of hundreds of border crossing opportunities? Jesus Christ, during vacation we walked over to Austria and back to Germany on mountains, over bridges, over land, everywhere. No police or border checks anywhere. I even saw a couple of Syrians or Iraqis with suitcases walking straight over.

Alright faggot, let me explain.
CSU also has the option of Freie Wähler (mostly Bavarian boomer Party, has Chance of reaching 10%), but even if they reach 38%, which is unlikely because many people iin Franken, München and other parts of Bavaria, mostly urban, but also suburban, will not actually give their vote to CSU, either because they lied in the polls, reality looks somewhat different, Seehoffer shilled to much in Berlin, as the media got populistic against the CSU or simply because they know other parties have realistic chances, they'll fail.
This will mean, that whatever the CSU will do, will be delightfully negative for them, by the factors of public opinion and political power.
If they pick FW, they'll expose themselves as power-hungry and lazy centrists, then they'll either have to trigger all lefties, the media, parliament and even their coalition partner by picking AfD, which would start to heavily influence the CSU and push back FW.
This would lead to sharp conflict with Mutti and political self-sabotage.
They likely won't do this, but if they pick FDP, the Image of cetrist, apathic and slow-working home-politicians will be increased and they'll have to adapt to their right-wing economic policies, which contradicts with the "Soziale" in CSU.
Otherwise, they'll have to take SPD&Grüne as partners, which will disappoint and anger every Bavarian, especially the rural ones.
Both political and popular suivide, because from then on CSU will have to follow the left-leaning political path of mainstream-Merkel supporters and will loose ist regional appeal, if that doesn't happen they'll have to do everthing the Greens and SPD want.
If FDP doesn't make it into the Landtag and Linke give their votes to Grüne, they're fucked, because they now can't compensate SPD with FDP to make a balanced coalition that might be their only chance to save face.
AfD may be able to profit from Chemnitz and puh back Grüne.
