The limit of the Earth is the limit of our ability to remove waste heat. We know how much energy people consume to live. We know how much energy the Earth can radiate out into space. Once we set a upper temperature limit that we will accept then we can backwards calculate how many people the planet can support.
Once we start expanding up, or down, we find that even with huge amounts of space per person. This includes massive amounts of space set aside to being natural. From this calculation the number of people we can fit is in the trillions.

The base assumptions of the maximum sustainable populations is already wrong. You could triple their estimate for arable land and that's still probably lowballing food production by an order of magnitude.

I think Earth's max sustainable population, in terms of food, is more in the range of 30-50 billion.

It worse than that, Africans are cutting down rainforests at an unprecedented scale, they're basically cutting down all the air production systems.

People in Africa and Asia go through a famine. People talk about population like it's evenly distributed when it's nowhere close. North America and Europe will be fine. Africa and Asia will be fucked.
