I would argue that they are more centrist, but you're pretty close. The show prides itself in being able to shit on both sides of any issue, but to do so is to take both sides at face value, obviously appearing stupid and idiotic. When all sides are deemed idiotic and incompetent, what is left is just nihilism, purposelessness, and (intentional or not) a theme centered around fickleness and self-defensive radicalism.
