Everyone stays inside. Everyone stays on their phones. Nobody socializes unless they’re on drugs of some kind. The new generations being pushed out of high school don’t even seem to interact once high school is over, it’s like the second high school is done all of those friendships, connections, and socializing is absolutely over for good. Anyone who has a healthy hobby does it alone, and anyone who pretends their happy is acting under a facade of spending money and using drugs.
And the way I mean this is literally neighbors don’t talk. Nobody knows each other, the only way by which people interact - at any age - is by social media. There used to be days like Halloween where blocks would throw parties, put on tons of decorations and let all the kids have tons of fun, interact with all of each other and talk about the future with hope and laughter and fun.
Nowadays, talking to strangers is socially unacceptable, and most people act like it’s weird to be outwardly social towards people you don’t know. That is NOT the America I grew up hearing about.
