HR is even more intolerable when you're actually doing the job hunt. A good hiring manager is really just cares about you being competent and a good fit for the team. HR only cares about one fucking question, how much do you want? I've seen people who were fucking coding savants get rejected by HR for some cheap pajeet who couldn't fucking tell the difference between Linux and windows.

HR departments really shouldn't exist, so the cunts there are expanding into policing thoughtcrime to try and justify their continued existence.

HR only exists to employ women who would screw up actual important business while filling an affirmative action checkbox.
Affirmative action *is* cancer and only benefits the incompetent.
So glad I could retire early.

This is why I helped fold HR into my own org structure at my company. They now report to me, I never hire additional HR reps, and I handle important hires myself. I have a lot of seasonal hires so I just let the girls busy themselves with filling those and dealing with their subhuman dramas.

You seem quite adept, I'd pursue the same if I were you. Doesn't take much, just manufacture situations where "time is of the essence" for hiring, handle it personally and make HR look incompetent (easy), create a little budgetary problem with the board by fudging numbers and offer to save costs by consolidating duties. There, now HR is your bitch.

She was a dirty fucking worm, tried getting the guy transcribing the meeting to stop writing so she could blackmail them. I now work at a very small company less than 100 people. No HR its all just managers and owner doing hiring.
They have one chick who is basically a secretary who handles the bullshit paperwork but no power.

I was a young fag at the time. Too scared that if I did that I'd be black listed from the industry. Or that the company would just bankrupt me playing court games so I'd never be able to afford to win.

I could have them with almost any other department and they'd at least stay on topic or hold questions unrelated to the end.
HR just had this attitude they could be so rude and bitchy to everyone and you had to just deal with it.

I'm the top of HR in a medium enterprise. It's not that glamorous or difficult a role, so don't take that as bragging. I have barely more than a handful of people under me and they're not really subordinate.

Executives don't want competent and authoritative HR staff because then they will get told off for swearing at their employees or using solicitors to move their car so they don't get a ticket (something which is definitely outside of their role). So they hamstring it, and we're left with our thumbs up our arse.

There are a lot of useless people in HR, but that's by design.

Fortunately it won't be long until I get a formal complaint about this director, and then I will be able to bring him to task.

It's actually worse, because not only does HR not bother sending me resumes, they don't bother recruiting or attending job fairs at universities in my region.

Thats not how rack mount servers work, they have rails they silde on to. That HP replaced a SuperMicro 1U, they thought the SM rails would work with a HP server.

Yes the rails would have. Best part was that HP didnt even belong to us, it was a loaner from HP they sent to us for evaluation purposes.

Software devs not installing rails and just placing on server on top of another was very common there. Sometimes they would just put it on top of a rack because who the fuck knows why

You fail to realize the reason HR exists, user. It's not a coincidence it's where useless women and useless brown people end up. It's a make-work program the government hoists on large companies by instituting a huge mess of vague and arbitrary quotas and standards that have nothing to do with reality.

You hire all the affirmative action people because the government fines the fuck out of you if you don't, realize quickly how useless they are and how all they've learned in university is a bunch of gender studies/minority struggles/progressive horseshit which is only useful for making them walking lawsuits waiting to happen. But they also can't be trusted with being productive, because if they were, they'd fuck things up until you can't deny needing to fire them any longer. So where can you stick them? HR; where the results don't matter and the rules are made up. The more chicken-shit portions of management love it because they can just unload any difficult conversations or managing to HR, and those useless women and dark people can flaunt power over peons and be distracted from any thoughts of suing your company because the parking spot you gave them is sexist or whatever.

The government gets to show great stats for women and brown people having jobs and making money. Academia gets to justify huge portions of classes that are useless but still land these parasites their jobs and keep the student loan gravy train bloating and keeping them employed teaching unobjective pseudoscience, and all that clout lets them be involved in writing more "equality" laws.

The only losers are productive workers (mostly white/Asian men) and the economy.

We did one ourselves a few years ago when we weren't as busy but just as fed up with HR. It actually worked out pretty well, you can screen out the sperg engineers from the ones with people skills very easily.

We had three stacks of resumes, one for the sperg rejects, ones for students we would call back, and one for students we'd entertain if they showed some initiative and called us back. Unfortunately HR slow-walked all of them and they took other offers.

We also gave the spergs some pre-made company sheets with the application URL mistyped so that it 404ed. In hindsight this was a little mean-spirited.

You are lucky if they managed to plug up the hardware correctly. Software guys know you don't need to actually MOUNT hardward except in a couple of cases, so they'll skip that step. It's called efficency. If you don't like it, refactor their work. That's also part of software development.
