I'd wager that the kind of people more likely to transgender are the people that spend a lot of time on the internet. Outside of the internet there's not very many places that would actively support transgender-ism (that's a word now I just made it). It takes a lot to transition, so I assume it helps to find a community of some sort that would actively help someone through that. Speedrunners also spend a lot (or all) of their time on the internet. So naturally I'd say there will be some sort of overlap between people that play video games fast and people that want to transition.

I'm not familiar with the other competitive gaming spheres but I'd be willing to bed that there are a few transgender people in most of them, as well as whatever obscure niche communities that exist on the internet. I would definitely not put it past Narcissa having some sort of role in it. She was at one point the biggest name in the community, so she could have shown certain people that there was that option if they were unhappy with who they were.

Hayao Miyazaki once made a good point about otakus ruining anime industry. Anime creators and studio bosses used to be talented and enthusiastic people who wanted to create and tell stories, and just picked anime as their medium. Nowadays industry is flooded with nerds who grew up obsessed with anime and enter it just to make anime. You'd think they would have vision and insights, but they are content in pushing out uninspired shit they know they like instead of really innovating and experimenting. They also tend to lack life experience and social interactions outside the geek subcultures and people outside their trade, which hampers their creativity and storytelling.

I think the same largely applies to state of modern vidya.

There is very much a trans agenda, a proselytizing effort. I am not hyper-masculine. I am shy, deferential, polite and bookish. However I was never coddled or encouraged along to think I was a tranny. It is easy to imagine that in my insecure teenage years had I been preyed upon by one of those trans predators I would have been a fertile target. Not because I am tranny (I wish I was taller and more masculine, not less), but because I was weak and vulnerable at the moment. Likewise, you were/are weak and vulnerable in that situation so a flattering experience like that makes you feel good.

The one problem with this theory of mine is to explain why highly successful dudes like that navy seal who became a tranny did so. Dysphoria definitely does exist, but it's rapidly outpaced by chic/social contagion queerism.
