Private Investigator Kevin Halligen was hired by the McCanns to find their daughter. He was given hundreds of thousands of pounds which spent on not very much research. Instead he spent his time living the life of luxury in Washington DC.

Washington DC is where he worked with a law firm called Patton Boggs to help set up his security business. Patton Boggs just happen to be rivals of the Podesta Group and doing a google search of 'Patton Boggs Podesta Group' will throw up many articles talking about their business dealings.

Halligen is from Ireland. The witnesses who were said to have described the efits which resemble the Podestas are also from Ireland. The police didn't have much of any excuse as to why they sat on these efits for so many years before releasing them.

A possible theory is that this is a lie and that the efits were made up shortly before release under the instruction of Halligen to people in Ireland he had connections with.

That is a theory but what are the chances that Irish witnesses would have described years earlier, according to the police, descriptions of men who resemble the Podesta brothers of the Podesta Group, a rival to the McCann investigator Halligen's law firm rivals?

So if Halligen knew the Podestas were involved is this why he didn't bother trying to find Maddie?
