First of all I assume you mean parallel, since if it was perpendicular it wouldn't slip, second let me teach you about slippage, if you're not almost completely perpendicular to a metal surface that isn't pilot holed and you apply pressure on your drill to bite into the metal it's super easy to torque out of it and create the scratches you see there
The dashes and short length totally match a threaded drill sliding and cutting into the paint and surface
