Even going so far as to invite the "internet police" (not kidding) to the show and ask about whether the members will be prosecutedfor hatespeech.

Still need to see the actual documentary but is anyone honestly surprised these guys are actually more right-wing than they publicly admit? They probably mean well but their memes are cringy as well as their public actions.

No. It was pretty clear from the start these guys were straight up Jow Forums.
I kinda like them, they've accomplished much in the recent months, hence why the media wants them dead.
I think a week or so ago, some government agency warned about right wing terrorism. Now, a week later, the media find a black sheep. Anyone else find this an interesting coincidence?

I actually don't think they're a threat at all. I'm watching the documentary right now. Seems all they're really doing is trolling. That some people in the Jeugdraad are with them isn't surprising at all. People who are politically minded will get into political organizations. I'm sure there are some hardcore leftists in there too. This is media scaremongering imo, but it will only make them more popular. Flanders is pretty rightwing all things considered.

They are doing well imo. Dries is a charismatic good looking guy. Advocates taking back our country by infiltrating organisations, staying in shape,... That is really the only way to go forward. We can only stay online for so long. It doesn't mean anything without power in the real world

If the group isn't banned outright, they will at least be shunned. Meeting politicians will be much harder in the future and the media will attack them whenever they can. I'm not so positive about their future desu. Don't forget they are a student group. If they're banned from the universities, reaching people will be much harder.
You don't need the framework of an organization to do so. Just be right-wing, stay in shape, support your community, drop some redpills. Why do you need all the flashy group stuff?
I've said it before a lot on Jow Forums, the only thing the right-wing really has to do is stay in shape and start winning at life. That's how you get the woman vote. There are evolutionary reasons for this. S&V is fine but they should keep private and be primarily a reading and working out group. They say it themselves: they want to be METApolitical, not political.

I watched it not knowing who they were but imo the memes really made them look awful, even though I love it myself, MSM has no understanding of humor.
I think their leader is charismatic, but not up to par with somebody like Ben Shapiro. Also probably lots of members who are just too Jow Forums.
We'll see tomorrow. Belgians on social media are pretty sick of all the leftwing propaganda so I have high hopes. S&V will be shutdown in some some ways but gain a significant amount of support along the way.
I agree and disagree. I believe young people might be influenced too much by MSM. Groups like s&v could spark a reaction, let them know that they are not alone.
I've been a lone wolf myself. Working my way up the social ladder, getting rid of undesirables in organisations. But that's only because I saw the internet and society change before my eyes. A 20 yo for example probably doesn't know any different and groups like S&V might wake up some of them.
All they had to do was keep their edgy memes on anonymous imageboards, preferably not even Jow Forums itself, and use Discord and other stuff for the practical, day-to-day tasks. Oh well. The leader lying his face off also wasn't convincing in the slightest. He should've just said something like the locker room talk comment from Trump. Never back down and never apologize.

Good point but the way you do this is by having alternative media channels. You don't need a semipolitical organization. Just share alt-media stuff.

There is no second chance for Dries. If anything, this was his second. Will never make it into (mainstream) politics after this, even if that wasn't his main intention (spoiler: it was). He did all he could to preserve a good public image - proven by his comments to never let anything leak from the private groups - and now all of that is ruined. People will only know him as 'that racist idiot'.

I agree factually but strategically getting into mainstream politics is hopeless. What are you really going to accomplish from within the Belgian system? At best you will get cordon sanitaire'd like Vlaams Belang. S&V has the right idea in spirit, you need to influence culture because over time culture will influence politics. But it's a very long process. I'm afraid it might even be too late for Europe, but Jow Forums doesn't like that idea. (Demographics is destiny and all that.)
People like The Golden One are doing much better work. You may laugh at his narcissism and stuff but he's a strong role model, doesn't hide his views (he encourages people to view The Greatest Story Never Told), promotes anti-porn and is an actual (amateur) martial artist. Guys like that are doing much more work influencing young men in a positive way.
Still, I'm very curious to see how all this will play out. I expect this to be the biggest story of the week in our media (surprise, elections are coming up)
De Morgen already uses the photo of Dries with a gun for the article "Ultrarechtse beweging Schild & Vrienden infiltreert in Vlaamse Jeugdraad." This is so painfully obvious people will have to take the framing talk of S&V seriously. Good for them.
