These fish reproduced rate of success because they lived to the age of creating offspring.
This tooth trait gets passed on.

The beneficial genes accumulate in cells in parts of body with optimal environment for them to bring benefit to them and the body.

Considering moths and birds are 2 separate well evolved species, it would be hard for either one to evolve into the other. Because they're already anatomically different species. This isn't Pokemon.

yes. those that didnt get eaten managed to reproduce and thus spread their genes and mutations on to the next generations. thus causing the population to slowely addapt and evolve. over time those mutations would cause an organism to be destinct enough to be a new species.
