Its easy to create the platform. The hard part is getting people to use it. Social media platforms need large groups of users (and the content they provide) to be useful and appealing.
For example, it would be easy to create a video site like Youtube, but how do you get the millions of videos Youtube has? Its that content (submitted by millions of users) that makes Youtube valuable and is why people keep going back to it.
This is the major advantage the big social media platforms have over the competition, and why some say antitrust laws should apply.

The big corporate sponsors, movie stars, sports athletes will all continue to use the mainstream twitter/facebook... while Gab or Bitchute is nothing but a pack of angry white men. The whole point of social networks is to comment and react to what is going on in the mainstream, so right there ,the "alternative site" starts off at a major disadvantage. I bet if you logged onto Gab right now, 50% of the posts on Gab are simply summarizing what is taking place on Twitter, reposting Twitter pictures.. just like we do here on Jow Forums where most topics her on Jow Forums are just Twitter screengrabs of folks like Jane Donovan or that idiot Shaun King, we just all sit here and act shocked by whatever the Left does, the Left is always in the driver seat and we just sit on the sidelines bashing them.
