Alex defended his actions at the time saying he didn't want to offer a platform for "racist bigots". Many of his fans defended Alex Jones with the same excuse that leftists now use to defend the corporations who banned Alex: >it's his private channel / platform, he can ban whoever he wants!
I also find it sad how Jow Forums went from seeing Alex Jones for the kike-controlled puppet he is to defending him as some kind of America-first free speech warrior.

That's a pretty weak analogy. Twitter and youtube presented themselves as a communications platform, as carriers for content providers, not content providers themselves. Their current policies would be less of a problem if their earlier openness didn't make this crackdown seem like a bait and switch. Maybe I'm wrong but Jones never seemed to present his show as a place where anyone could say anything, just where he could say anything.
