You're not wrong. I live in a rural-ish suburb in Tennessee. We always have to plan cop hotspots into our traveling plans, whether we are going to work, shopping, or visiting with family and friends. The one thing you never want to do is stand out. They are essentially road pirates now who will use force to take your hard earned money to continue funding their pirating operation. It feels like a soft oppression because they're presence alone causes you to alter your behavior. And believe me when I say, the last thing you want on your commute is to deal with a power tripping, 86iq, "Good'ol boy" with a badge and a superiority complex. Around here, they seemingly ignore the real problems, like the crack dens and meth houses and instead spend their time trying to make life hell for the people who actually try to contribute to society. Quotas can suck a dick too.

It's worse than you think. If we have a lightbulb go out on one of our cars, we have to plan to travel home during the day or risk being spotted and harassed. If day travel becomes impossible, then we usually opt to leave said car behind and travel in the one fully working car, or if we have to travel at night and have to take the one-headlight car, then we stage a small convoy where I drive directly in front of my wife in an effort to conceal her headlights. Same goes for hauling trailers.

Cops around here fight dirty, they like to do shady shit, like sit at the bottom of steep hills and try to catch people who just let their car coast, rather than riding your brakes like a moron. Or they will gerrymander school zones and strictly enforce, despite there never being any fucking children visible, ever!! There's no fucking sidewalks for fucks sake! And the children don't walk anyfuckingwhere!! They ride the goddamn bus or get picked up by Susan in her Kia Sedona, FFS!! All the kids live 5-15 miles from the school! Jesus H.
