1. It is pretty much indisputable that Jews were persecuted prior to the Second World War, and many were forced to flee Germany. America and Britain among other nations took in many refugees. Among them was Albert Einstein. The Nazis were also clearly not averse to doing counterproductive, stupid shit - their entire AFV program is a great example.

2. Stuffing a bunch of people into a room and filling it with poison gas is hardly what I'd call inefficient. It was silent, and hearing the bullets would probably alarm many of the prisoners in the labor section of the camp. The stories of most of the other "methods" are gross exaggerations, and nobody calls it truth, as point 3 even goes as far as to say.

3. We don't take the reports of the masturbation machines at face value. I think it only seems like witness reports are given so much value because they're the most emotionally stirring. There are other pieces of evidence given.

4. They were in Poland. That's why. The number of deaths attributed to Auschwitz was actually lowered when the facts came out - from 4 million to 1.5. Of course, this was only a dispute of the ratio of which camps did what.

5. Jews were the primary target of the Nazi rhetoric and propaganda campaigns. That's why.

6. The holocaust is the single largest racially-motivated genocide in history, and while I think the Communist atrocities deserve far more attention than they're given they were not racially motivated - in our world, racism is the worst crime there is. I don't agree with it, but that's the reason. While the Communist atrocities aren't accidents, they definitely did fuck people up on purpose and send them to the gulag, the majority of the deaths were simple negligence, or enemies of the state, real or imagined - in a sense, they were always guilty of some crime that was not simply being born a Jew.
