the USSR was fantastic and only failed because of western agression. Because capitalism is inherently imperialist it has its military power built in, whereas a socialist state must make sacrifices to fund a military because it does not profit from killing other people the way capitalism does.

Housing been awlay s an issue, people had to live with grandparents or in communal apartments shared between few families. You couldnt buy anything but you had to serve for organization or military to get your turn in being granted an apartment (ie my dad had served as a navv officer in the north to get apartment)
