I'm a libertarian but if you see anyone who claims he's a libertarian and defends these "private firms" is fucking retarded. If it were not for government intervention Google, FB, Twitter exc. would never hold so much power.
I think the problem with free market fundamentalists is they explicitly ignore the component of time.
For instance, I do believe alternatives will rise up. However, that takes time and in the meanwhile conservatives will continue to be silenced. This will have longterm ramifications and by the time an alternative rises up it could be too late.

The only way an alternative can rise up is if the current amalgamation of tech giants become so unpopular that the majority of people would willingly flock to anything else. As long as they maintain a solid userbase there will never be a viable alternative because you would have to create alternatives to every part of the infrastructure, as outlined in my OP.
Explain
Do you think it is sheer coincidence that the CEOs of these companies all hold the same political views? Do you think they all obtained monopoly-level power merely by their own merit? Either liberals and their ideas are superior and naturally rise to the top, or they had outside help.
