Because from where I'm standing there is no logical reason that weapons of war should be allowed on our streets. Yeah, there's the Second Amendment but no right is absolute. And when you look at the deaths and fear assault rifles cause it becomes clear that there is no reason anyone other than the military should be allowed to have one. Look at Australia and the UK for example. They banned guns and...no more mass shootings.
Gun control may or may not work but the important thing is that we at least try and do something rather than sitting on our hands because the NRA and Conservatives are cowering behind the Second Amendment, holding the nation hostage from common sense gun reform. Ban them, confiscate them.

How can so many guns randomly kill people. I Have had some of my collection for 30 years, and never once has anything happened. Not once has one loaded & fired itself....and I even keep the ammo in the same safe. I have an AR that I keep a mag in at all times, and it never even tried to load itself.
