There doesn't need to be an alternative to Christianity, just additional knowledge added to it.
However, if you're curious: I'm in the process of writing a book on foundational truths and philosophy covering a wide variety of topics, like the meaning of life, the only 2 priorities, the perfect form of government, why we form communities, why we must die, the 3 modes of conflict resolution, how to hold good debate and why, what rights we are born with and why, a moral system based on logic, differences in selfishness, altruism, and evil, and how it plays out in the large scale, various things our civilization is doing wrong, what we can do to correct it, and on and on and on. No bullshit, the stuff I've figured out is 100% true regardless of whether this life is real, if we're being manipulated by a powerful outsider (Descartes), or living in a simulated or holographic universe. I've been thinking about, developing, testing, and confirming this stuff several hours every day over the last 20 years.
I'm about half way done writing the various topics down and have worked on a rough outline, but there's a bit more to go, a bit more to explore, and a lot of editing. Publishing is probably going to be a bitch, but, it'll be worth it.
The information in my book will be self contained and a guide in itself for everyone. It will help, it just requires people to read it, and for me to finish writing it and get it out there. It will be world changing. I'm somewhat describing it currently as an "atheist's Bible", even though some of the information contained within helps justify God by answering some much needed questions like "if God is all powerful, good, and loves us, why does he allow bad things to happen to us?" There are legitimate answers to these questions like these.
You don't have to believe me, you just have to wait, so in that I apologize.

Religion needs to work for people across all intelligence levels. This is why we use stories and parables and archetypes. We've been discussing this for 2000 years. I think Catholicism has it pretty well articulated at this point. There's just some things you'll never be able to do away with. Particular among them are the mysteries. The very conception that christ's resurrection is inexhaustibly profound constitutes a mystery.
This does not preclude reason, our God given capacity. It is something that bears inexhaustible fruit when intertwined with reason.
