Iraq General /ig/ – Post-Apocalypse Edition

>Like a beacon of hope, the pristine precast concrete towers of Bismayah, Iraq, rise more than 100 feet out of the desert six miles southeast of Baghdad.
>In March 2010, the Iraqi Government announced the ‘National Development Plan 2010-2014’ with a need of 3 million housing units with a plan to supply 2 million housing units over five years.
>Iraq's National Investment Commission (NIC) designates Bismayah, located 10km southeast of Baghdad, as the first city development project.

>As Iraq's biggest city development project ever in its history, the Bismayah New City Project sprawls across an area of 1,830 hectares, with plans to accommodate up to 600,000 occupants within 100,000 residential units; in addition, infra-networks such as roads, electricity, water and waste management, along with a cohesive social groundwork of public facilities for commerce, education, and welfare, will make this project a perfect execution of modern urban construction.

>There are 2 kinds of unit type in Bismayah housing.
>The traditional Type is ideal for carrying Islamic values in everyday life, especially respecting the privacy of the family, where the kitchen and bedrooms are independent from living room.
>The modern Type is ideal for current living with efficient use of the space, especially boasting the large living-kitchen lay-out.
>The kitchen and living room interconnected with each other for a larger use of space.

Hvae you not been paying attention? Looks like Iraq will get another war soon, Abadi and Sadr alliance looks to be over, and whichever one comes out on top, Iran looks to lose. Protests in Basra over lack of/poisoned water and electricty shortages, and this latest project will probably not go over well with the protestors, they suffer while Iraqi government builds mega housing projects for their own.

I wouldn't trust any proyect that isn't the result of a free market and even less in a scale like this.

Kinda reminds me of this:

If Iran loses Iraq in a major way, they can kiss their corridor to the Mediterranean goodbye.

Iraqis could get nationalist politicians who aren't cucks of another country but instead politicians that will use their oil money more like the UAE does except with less focus on foreign labor. You know build desalination plants for one.

bump since this triggered someone.
