It's looking like it's gonna landfall as a high-end Cat 3 or somewhere in the Cat 4 range. Still too early to tell, but it's going to be a doosie. One thing to remember about the Carolinas is that they've got so many weak-to-wind trees that wind damage is actually kind of significant to them.
Anons in NC/SC: You should start preparing, and be ready to go a little while without power. Good chance of most of the state of NC at the very least being without power for a couple of days.
