Hurricane Florence is now a strong Category 4 hurricane that is expected to continue strengthening up to a low Category 5 within the next 24 hours. It is expected to landfall at Category 4 intensity. The absense of wind sheer and abundance of hot water all along the US east coast makes the conditions incredibly favorable for this event to occur.
North Carolina, South Carolina, Maryland, and Virginia have issued state of emergency's.
