College Debt

I pay 300€ per semester in a german university.
By the time I‘m done I will only have paid 2,400€ for my bachelors degree.

pretty much this.

you might as well just off yourself, filthy g*rman.

You forgot to ask how much they make

I have a 1 year plumbing diploma that cost $2k. I probably have a better relative purchasing power than you too.

>VW golf costs 30k
>25% Vat
Yikes

>By the time I‘m done
are you sure about that kek? whad do you study

>300€
???
Normally there are only bunch of fees for Mensa and other small stuff.
After the 500€ Semestergebühren they introduced for a few years and then abolished again soon, I don't remember paying anywhere near that much for a semester. Did they change it again or is it different from university to university?

>EU citizen can study for free in scotland
>britbongs can‘t

What did they mean by this?

I will have no debt.

That is all that matters.

Are you starting this year?

Oh wow, min wage is 1500eur in germany and he pays 2400.

Tbh im thinkingvof studying and working in krautland.
Ill pay same likevin this shithole but get superior education.

University is a parasite on the people.
Have fun having your head filled with poison.

Seems to be different for each university

Its mainly for mensa, public transport and some commie student unions.
They got rid of student fees, not semester fees.
Average semester fee in North-Rhine-Westfalia is around 280€.
Munich is only 120€ but you gotta deal with ridiculous rent. Highest is apparently 360€ For Frankfurt.

We have it pretty good I think.

'Murikan education costs about USD$80,000
±40,000 for a Bachelors degree, and is mostly
not worth that time & money.

How much is rent for 1 person living alone?

Our students pay 200-400€ rent+ 1000-3000€ yearly tuition+ books.

Yes.
If I did everything in 3 years it would be cheaper, but I‘m going to take it slower on some friends recommendations.

But to be fair, ~600 € a year is simply not something I am hugely concerned with so I‘m not going to rush through college at all costs.

something like that, but my degree in business is worthless, I'm working in a fast food joint, so ¿who cares?

nothing to be smug about. You still have to pay for rent in an off-campus apartment, food, insurance, etc. costing somewhere around 600-800EUR/month or 7200-9600/year depending on the city.
Here we also have vastly higher student failure rates, because everybody can attend uni and they have to regulate demand somewhere and cull out ~50% in STEM in the first 2-4 semesters.
And don't forget that you have to put student loan debt against earning potential. Here a software engineer makes 42k-65k.
That's 30k-44k post tax (just income, hc and ss).
You'd make 100k-250k in the US + lower taxes.
If you attend uni in your state and have a scholarship and go for STEM you'll be far better off and make more money long term.
Also since uni is 'free' it's expected to have at least a masters if you ever want to get your foot into management.

So you study longer, at a higher risk of getting kicked out, paying the same for your education but just delaying it in form of future tax payments, to make less money.
Truly superior system.

Depends entirely on the city and the living conditions.
Munich can get insane, starting at 400/500 for a single room in a shared apartment.
Other parts are cheaper but can get pretty wonky too with the prices.

During 3 years of studies I've only paid for one book. It was around 10€.

>sold my ass to the kikes in an enlistment contract
so nothing

I paid zero. Every month the uni gave me 200$

they went to find themselves dude

Largely depends on the city, but definitely more expensive.
m.spiegel.de/lebenundlernen/uni/deutschland-studenten-muessen-fuer-wg-zimmer-immer-mehr-miete-zahlen-a-1225307.html

Here is a map for average cost of a room in a shared flat. Living alone is probably going to equal out your costs.

Dorms are popular with exchange students and cost 200 on average per month.

Roughly $1k/semester in the 90s. For that I got the full experience at a respectable State U for 6 years -- warm climate, social life, campus tech jobs, off-campus tech jobs... and a literal never-ending stream of cute, (mostly) unspoiled teenage girls.

As a bonus, the US Govt sent me the tuition amount and then some, as a thank you for previous invading Iraq.

Was that Head Chopper U?

>be Indian
>pay $27 per semester for medicine course
>pay $16 per semester to allot a room
>get paid $1000 per month starting from the 5th year.

we get between 300-500€ per month and have to pay 25-55€ per month to the university (or 0€ for poor students).

Try harder

Damn I love being Indian.

In Denmark, they get around 900-1000€ (after taxes) for studying and they don't have to pay the university anything.

Lel we get nothing and i pay 800 euro per year . It depends on rich you are . The poorfags pay 300/400 per year . Yeah we are pretty much 3rd world country

>In Denmark
stay on your island

Also KEK

So, everyone else, most of which didn't study and work since their 16th birthday ave tto pay people studying geder studies and you think that's a good system? Most of degrees aren't even economically usefull or even harmful to society.

Manwile hard working Kinderpfleger and Altenpfleger pay lazy fucks which could have payd their debt later on and would be more concerned with studying something proper.

>100-250k for a software engineer in the US

Granted that's senior or higher and in more expensive areas.

You're not paying for education, you're paying a small administration fee and around 250€ for your 6 months ticket for public transportation. Not sure how the area in Berlin is defined, but I live in the 2nd largest state and my ticket counts for the whole state, and even for trips to enschede and Maastricht in holland. Germany got rid of study fees years ago.

I‘m aware that they won‘t fund the universities with 300€ a month, but you still gotta pay something

The ticket going to Enschede is hilarious btw, they must know full well what students use that for.

>middle left

so college made her stop cutting her afro short, cruel

problem with enschede was always that it's 2 stops after the border, like 10 minutes. before that you had to get an extra ticket for those 2 stops and almost everyone tried to just skip those, a lot of work for ticket inspectors and confusion among travellers. so they just got rid of that shit.

basically everyone's going to holland now and then to either smoke their or bring some back btw, and i don't know anyone who ever got into to trouble using the train

Ayyy my gf is from Münster and went to high school in Enschede to an international school. Now she studies in the Netherlands though because she likes the uni's better here than in Germany.

Attached: bateman_toad.png (420x420, 23K)

No hate, I know a few people who study in the netherlands and are really happy.

Münster is lovely, I don't need a car and I can get anywhere relevant in the city with a bike withing 20 minutes. Too many leftists tho.

everything in holland is better than germany. beautiful architecture, people who are generally more well dressed and mannered, and cops are fucking phenomenal. never met more chilled and nice cops than in holland. everyone is in a better mood over there it seems.

please let me in

True, but I love the cafes and bread bakeries in the center of Münster on a Sunday morning. Always lovely bread and great coffee for a reasonable price.
It's a great city but not that much work for someone like me who's gonna pursue an MSc in Finance next year.
Most things in the Netherlands are better yes, especially the police here is always good and chill. Only thing that sucks is that we get fucked over by the taxes and grocery store prices.

$2800 a year for uni, feelsbadman

Also my gf voted FDP which is ok because she isn't as right wing as AFD bit is very much so against illegal immigration but isn't as radical. When she went to a party Congress of the FDP it was full of 60+ year olds kek

Attached: 1528292426930_0.png (640x640, 18K)

FDP is what I would vote for if we weren't in the middle of a refugee crisis.
good grill.

Yeah I'm really happy. She has a weird childhood though. She was born in a village in Bavaria close to where Hitler was born in Austria, but moved to the UK when she was 4 and lived there until she was 13. Then she moved to Enschede for a year and after that to Munster but stayed in the same school. Her parents are Iraqi and are doctors both of them and had to flee Iraq because of the sadam regime killing and torturing anyone who wasn't pro-Saddam. They've integrated into every place they went to and have never caused a problem and don't consider themselves religious at all. They're good people, conservative and value things like modesty etc. Especially since when I met my gf at uni when she was 17 she was still a virgin and had only pecked one other person as a kiss 3 years before that.

A million dollars cause the morons choose to pay a 4 year college for the first 2 years of basic education, which can be done for WAY WAY WAY cheaper in a community college. How fucking ignorant.

Uhhh, this post by my fellow Hans is provoking the merimutt.

I pay about $150 per semester in staff fees.

When I graduate and start earning at least $45k annually I have to pay back the debt, roughly $1100 a unit, so its about $30k give or take

Unless I emmigrate elsewhere, or fail to earn $45k annually over the next 10 years or something, then the debt is forgiven
