Basically everyone can get into whatever field they can here as long you have done your A levels (with few exceptions like basically requiring a straight As in everything to do medicine ). Combine that with free education and you have tons of people at unis.

The first 2-4 semesters usually cull out about half of students, but even those that remain usually take a bit longer.

Basically you have 3 tries to finish a module, if you fail 3 times you failed the module and can not continue studying that subject, or subjects that include a module with strong similarity.

For example, if I failed my law module in economics three times I would have no chance to study law obviously. I could still stay in uni and switch to computer science or something.

Tuition is fucked, no way around it. Room and board is if you live on campus, chances are you can get an appartment with roomates very easily for like a 3rd of that. Get your books from Amazon and that cuts that fee in half if not more. Look up the specs they require in a laptop and get your own and boom, you've saved about 13 grand a semester.

Find a nearby community college and go there for your first year or two to knock out your shitty gen eds (90% of them are not worth a serious class and CC+self study is better). Move to that city first, living in a dorm is a fucking scam and they may force it on all incoming freshmen that aren't local. Search for all your textbooks online, a lot of them can be found with "(textbook name) (one author last name) (pdf/torrent)." Go for older editions, they're almost exactly the same. ABSOLUTELY DO NOT BUY A TEXTBOOK FOR A CLASS UNTIL YOU KNOW IT'S 100% NECESSARY. 9/10 you can just photocopy relevant sections from classmates or get it elsewhere. Only exceptions are usually lab manuals. If your school charges you a flat printer usage fee in your tuition, abuse the fuck out of it and print out your textbooks if you want.
