The Pentagon made the attack the new Pearl Harbor PNAC wanted. Without an attack on a military installation 9/11 might have been treated as a crime instead of an act of war.

The 'no planes' theory is the idea that the towers were destroyed entirely with explosives and the planes hitting the towers was an effect they did for TV. Another theory states that the military used an unknown-to-the-public holography technology to make the planes appear in the sky. This technology is plausible, but is not known to exist. The theory is not falsifiable currently and there is no material evidence which supports it (at least compared to other theories)

In my opinion the best theory about 9/11 is that real planes hit the the twin towers. Then a short time later nanothermite or thermite charges cut the main supports in the towers and they collapsed. This theory is supported by all the videos of the aircraft hitting the towers, from multiple independent sources and angles, as well as the eye witness accountants, as well as the fact that a peer reviewed study confirmed that nanothermite was present in the dust on the ground and in the air at ground zero, as well as many other phenomena consistent with the use of nanothermite such as white smoke, high temperature winds, microscopic balls of iron being in the air, and the recorded temperatures. I am not aware of any other exlanation which has even a shred of evidence to support it, because the 9/11 commission report did not provide a model that demonstrated how the buildings collapsed, and instead they only provided a brief animation of the building collapsing that wasn't even the full timeline and included no explanation. Not sure what hit the pentagon or what crashed in pennsylvania.

I am pretty sure the flaw was architectural. That stainless steel skin was what carried the load down whereas in current curtain wall methods the skin just hangs on. Thin stainless steel carried the load down not large central steel columns. Listen to the descriptions of survivors and look at the images. The areas adjacent to the fire were bending and folding immediately.

Some people claim a missile is what hit the pentagon. This seems plausible to me because of the arguments I read from air traffic controllers and pilots who claimed the maneuvers would be impossible for that pilot, and because the aircraft supposedly used was travelling at speeds and Gs beyond which it was designed for. Personally, Im still on the fence, but this would at least explain why the FBI rushed to confiscate all the footage of the impact and never released all of it.

This has been my thinking as well. However, I watched Missing Evidence last night and found the following points interesting:

>massive explosive force was provided by molten aluminium coming into contact with water from the sprinklers - this reaction releases hydrogen, which inevitably ignites

Some things were a bit tenuous i.e. achieving furnace-like conditions in both towers such that aluminium could not only melt but also turn yellow (~1,000°C). Additionally, there was no discussion of molten metal being found months later, WTC7, or Lucky Larry. Definitely some food for thought in my opinion though.

I think they planned on bringing the towers down before they built them so design faults that would make this easier were included in the plan
