Guns are pretty easy to manufacture yourself too, especially if you have access to a good machine shop. I read the hardest part of making a gun is the magazine, because making a spring with the perfect amount of pressure to feed ammo into the receiver is hard to do, but it can be done.

The book "expedient homemade firearms" by P.A. Luty is about how to build a fully automatic 9mm smg with common tools and materials, not much special equipment required at all. You can find the pdf all over the internet, I can upload it for you if you cant find it.
