Based on what facts exactly? Degrees aren't some official thing, they're just ways of differentiating people from one another based on skill. He's already said as much in one of his bible lectures, that gradation of degrees is essentially just a case of letting only x% of people graduate with the degree.
He understands the market better, he knows that real business is looking for a method to differentiate good and bad students, and that the paper it's printed on is worth only as much as efficacy of the degree.

If Jordon Peterson can't claim members of the Canadian gov are rapists and bedwetters without evidence and not facing legal recourse then people shouldn't be able to claim he is like Hitler. If defamation laws didn't exist then we could lie about anyone we don't like in order to remove them as competition. Defamation is hard to prove in court. Not sure about Canada, but if the people making these claims about Peterson honestly think this then it may not be construed as defamation. Laws have to allow stupidity among people. For instance, if I'm on record stating he isn't like Hitler, explain why he isn't, and then go on a campaign claiming he is like Hitler he would have a case because I have displayed malice with my intentions. It's tricky so even defamation laws allow freedom of speech. Just not malice.
