A motion toward the northwest is forecast to begin by this afternoon and continue through Thursday. Florence is expected to slow down considerably by late Thursday into Friday, and move slowly through early Saturday. On the forecast track, the center of Florence will move over the southwestern Atlantic Ocean between Bermuda and the Bahamas today, and approach the coast of North Carolina or South Carolina in the hurricane warning area on Thursday and Friday.

The area from Cape Fear to Cape Lookout can expect storm surges of 9-13 feet.

NHC does advisories every 6 hours typically, however when a hurricane is coming close they will do one every 3 hours, alternating between a complete and intermediate one.
The Intermediate one is basically not a lot different from the previous Complete one and only has its update info from satellite/buoy data and predictions. The complete advisories have Hurricane Hunter air recon to go on as well.
At least that's what I think the difference is.

Kinda, the Hurricane's position is updated to fit the models from the Complete advisory from before, and its wind is adjusted if there's enough evidence from Buoys/Satellites that the Hurricane's peak winds have actually intensified, but this is usually not the case.
The whole TL;DR of it is that intermediate advisories are just repeats of the Complete advisories with slightly updated info.
