>Get up 7am and commute 1 hour to work. >9am to 7pm work in the office (Corporate Finance) >7:30pm to 9:30pm go to night school for CFA >10:30pm to midnight, study >Half of pay check goes to rent >Rinse and repeat
So why's capitalism so great again?
I'm perpetually stressed, tired and exhausted to the point where I've forgotten what it feels like to be well-rested. I have no friends and my only comfort is food and my mid-morning wank in the disabled toilet.
>get up at 7am and make sure I don't have important emails >wake up at 8am and walk to my desk >8am - 3pm have to be available in case I'm needed, can play video games otherwise >college degree in welding but unrelated >go to bed at 2am >quarter paycheck goes to rent >get flown across the country to talk about board games That's why capitalism is great
Money, get away Get a good job with good pay and you're ok Money, its a gas Grab that cash with both hands and make a stash
t. jew
Michael Morales
>be at work for 8/9am >post mail until 1:30/2pm >go home, go gym and play vidya
You office cucks are hilarious.
Gabriel Gomez
You are in england you get everything for free just go on welfare like everyone else
Nicholas Howard
>time to shitpost on Jow Forums Liar.
Brayden Wilson
They dangle that partnership prospect in front of you telling you you could be one of the big boys making £1-1.5 million a year base (excluding bonus) and wining/dining clients but they don't tell you that the partnership rate is close to 3-5%.
People get so caught up in the race that they don't see their chances are close to none.
Kevin Collins
Nope. Just someone incredibly frustrated at not being able to get the supposedly simple concept of a cash flow statement.
Mason Nguyen
thats unironically why i quit uni before it was too late.
Easton Garcia
>tfw you fell for the finance meme because you thought it'd pay good and not have very difficult schooling >hate every second of it
Oliver Turner
Be a postman. >£11.36 an hour >only work half a day or if you're full time, early mornings - 2pm >easy a fuck job
Only downside is the weather.
Sebastian Thompson
1. Learn a trade
2. Start your own small buisness
Hunter Bennett
You are a faggot that wastes his life with complacency and fears too much to really live. Not capitalism fault
Gabriel Parker
What..Bro uni is easy mode compared to work. You have so much free time and you have peers you can mingle with, not competitive colleagues you never see outside of work.
I have an English Lit degree and it was a doddle compared to now.
Jose Rogers
This, being a wage slave again gives me nightmares, just being stuck in one place for 8 hours.
Julian Thompson
I'm working CF at a bulge bracket and it's really draining. I feel like I'm being molded into an NPC.
Learning programming languages (Python atm) at night and taking courses for it on the weekends in hopes of transferring out to a startup tech firm.
Noah Campbell
Yea, but that £11.36 an hour doesn't compare to £800 an hour, does it now? Once you've had a taste of the good life, you want it all mate.
David Gutierrez
>wake up at 7 am, fuck blonde big titty gf >be at work at 8-16(not using retarded time standard) taking care of retarded afghans in segregated areas making top dollar >10% goes to rent >rinse and repeat until i can buy a house in 1 year swedish capitalism best capitalism
Lucas Cooper
>just being stuck in one place for 8 hours.
Looool that's amateur hour man, I'm at a desk for around 15 hours a day usually.
Sebastian Fisher
It’s not. Your a goy wage slave for the Juden.
Matthew Wood
Babby can’t even wake up at 7. That’s sleepin in for me. I get up at 3am every day and get shit done.
Jace Rodriguez
Bad choices bad outcomes. Also you should pick up audiobooks.
Josiah Richardson
I make 78k to drive a truck and deliver food to people. I support my wife and child on one income, no gibs or help from anyone.
Capitalism has enabled me to provide for my family, and the latest Trump tax cuts have increased my take home. I started at 55k 3 years ago. Working my ass off cause the other drivers are too lazy to work hard. Get a real job, where they actually need you.
Jackson Lopez
most coding jobs are the exact same NPC office hell
Jacob Sullivan
dude your going to school, one day you make more money, why is there a crying nigger?
Liam Price
This guy gets it
Ayden Scott
yes but that's what i say mate. i quit before finishing my bachelors because then i would have been "overqualified" for everything. i started electrical engineering but gradually realized that uni already sucks, but work life would suck ten times more. uni is no way to an easy life, it's only good for having a career if you're willing to sacrifice everything for it. fuck that. i wish you the best mate but lol i for my part will start driving trains or something making "only" 40k but having an easy life.
Joshua Allen
you are a retard sir
Parker Green
Oh I understand but you seem quite miserable
Jonathan Lewis
Why are you studying for the CFA if you’re working 9-7 in corporate finance already
And how the fuck is your rent half your income with so many hours in corporate finance
Sounds like you’re at a shit job kiddo
Austin Rivera
I was gonna say to him, the programmers I know are even more stressed than I am. Some of them can go MIA for WEEKS seemingly doing work non-stop for huge stretches of time.
Justin Watson
EE is fun user why u did it
Brody Carter
getting paid per mile?
Austin Edwards
>Why are you studying for the CFA if you’re working 9-7 in corporate finance already
Obviously the company is making me mate, I wouldn't do it out of my own volition while working full time.
David Barnes
Per hour. My company doesn't Jew it's employees, and work them for free.
Nicholas Murphy
Because low-lifes will always fill shit positions in society and keep the wheel greased.
Gavin Hernandez
You won't understand what it's like working in finance until you experience it. Everyone on the outside is trying to get in but everyone inside is trying to get out.
Like OP said we work like 15 hours on a good day and the work is not as exciting as we hoped to be. Almost every day is repetitive. I work in FP&A and most of my work consists of excel and making powerpoints and ad-hoc bs
Chase Robinson
And I'm home everyday.
Daniel Carter
So you are saying there is no weekends in Britain?
Nearly qualified ACCA lad, I know those feels. Wouldn’t be too bad if I was making bank but only two exams to go and only on £24k and study support, well I’m hoping to get £35k at least when I pass but not looking forward to increase in pressure and stress.
This is not the life or what people think it is. It's filled with sociopathic retards, clients suck, your expendable at all times, small economic changes mean large layoffs, zero stability, always on the grind, stuffy and pompous, absolutely horrible. I can't wait for AI to decimate the industry.
Henry Cox
nice then you're lucky. i hear the trucking industry is getting jewed hard in the US with all those big mergers happening recently but apparently you can find some gems. my uncle is a contractor driver and i sometimes think of doing this too lol. majority of drivers are guys that never finished school here.
Joseph Allen
What are your exit plans btw?
I'm about to interview at a big consulting firm. IB is out of the picture since no deal experience and I don't feel like going for an MBA.
Owen Peterson
Mate, pls tell me how a cash flow fucking works lol.
Nolan Martin
More* pay. If you’re gonna quote Gilmour, get it right Schlomo
Oliver Hall
>>Get up 7am and commute 1 hour to work. am to 7pm work in the office (Corporate Finance) :30pm to 9:30pm go to night school for CFA :30pm to midnight, study >>Half of pay check goes to rent >>Rinse and repeat
Such is the life of the shill paid to create slide threads
Bentley Moore
Quit. Take classes to meet CS prereqs. Go back to school.
Joshua Moore
What are you doing and why do you lie?
Nathaniel Jenkins
Got to pay taxes for niggers welfare mate
Carson Lopez
It's more common than you think.
Camden Rodriguez
So, what is the point? It is your choice. I worked in cap markets for 9yrs, sometimes up to 100hrs a week, sometimes without a single day off for months (i.e. 7 days a week, every week for months).
You here me bitch about capitalism? Nope. I made good money and I hate nothing after my father died. I appreciate capitalism gave me a chance.
Bro...you’re in corporate finance and you don’t understand a cash flow statement? This is why I always say accounting majors are more useful than finance majors because accountants can easily do the job of finance
t. CPA who could do a Cashflow statement (direct or indirect) in their fucking sleep
Brody Rivera
and you do think socialism would be any better? you britbongs are already taxed ridiculously how would you like to be taxed further to pay for the expanded gibs??? >but the rich will pay nope, they'll weasel out of their tax responsibilities or simple leave the country and the tax burden will fall squarely on people like you.
the money has to come from somewhere and it won't come from (((them)))
Charles Morris
Accountants are more socially inept than fucking engineers.
Joshua Martin
>tfw rich parents who will let me be NEET for life Imagine having to actually work or go to school.
>commute 1 hour to work Move close or get a job elsewhere where you can live closer. >work 10 hours Get a different job or go to normal hours you mong. >night school to get CFA Good for you I'm working full time and going to school for my Masters in Accounting and CPA. >half of pay check goes to rent Okay you're in finance but you're financially retarded? Amazing.
Oh and you've made these kinds of threads before with the exact same picture but never actually went into detail on why your life is so soul crushing. Quit being a stupid faggot and blaming your problems on (((capitalism))). If you truly hate your life under it go to a communist country (you won't) or kill yourself bud.
I shouldn't have to learn the adjustments to cash flow being in finance but for some reason I do.
James Richardson
Holy fuck I just read that, that's actually really sad. t.accountant too, cash flow statements are actually one of the more simple concepts on the FAR exam. t. pissed off engineer who gets hounded by accountants all day because he can't do his job right. There are millions of you.
Luke Cook
Exit plan? I’m looking to stay in it desu, it could be worse. I’m 30 and had shit jobs for half my 20s, e.g minimum wage shit, so this is still a step up for me. Main downside is the stress, the pressure, the boredom and the boring hyper conformist petty people.
Office I’m working in now is so boring, two female accountants I sit next to and we never talk about anything apart from work and barely even that. At least place I was at last there were few other guys my age to banter with.
I’m looking around now, I turned down £30k a year job for this one, which is about £25k but gives study support and is closer (plus other company was failing)
Oliver Reyes
I never got my HS diploma either. Make more than college educated people I know. I enjoy the sterotype of being a bumpkin from college educated service job workers.
An awful lot of nerve to talk down to the people that ensure food and toilet paper is in stock for them.
Asher Turner
Some are. Some aren’t. Usually the partners and CFO’s are fucking autistic. I’m a pretty social guy and can’t stand being around most accountants.
Nathaniel Thomas
>be Slav >have Masters in mech. engineering >be good at coding >speak fluent kraut/english
>Get up at 8AM >Commute 20 mins to work >In the office at 9AM >Take breaks whenever I want to >Out by 5PM, at home at 5,30PM >1-2 days a week home office kek
>mfw a fifth of paycheck goes to rent >mfw when 3/5 of my paycheck I save each month
Dear god it really did pay off not killing myself earlier
Andrew Anderson
Reminds me of that joke
A financier creates an intricate marble statue. The accountant goes up to it, analyzes it for an hour, and says, "It's made from marble."
Srsly though accounting is cancer
Mason Robinson
You really should considering majority of valuation models are derived from cash flows
Liam Cooper
>Half of pay check goes to rent
Might that have anything to do with rapefugees inflating the housing market? Or maybe the problem lies more in the other half of your paycheck going to muh NHS facilitating said rapefugees to breed?
Isaac White
OP is smart enough to study CFA -- not smart enough to realize we're heading into a global currency crisis...
KYS
Gavin Morris
can i come and stay at your place? i'll be your sidekick i don't want to go to school or work EVER.
Justin Ortiz
Just because your countries drama teacher is driving your currency into the dirt doesn't mean we're in a global crisis.
Easton Johnson
Sure buddy, our house has 12 bedrooms.
Jonathan Martinez
I swear, most of them only look to see if something adds up correctly or balances out. It seems like they are completely incapable of any abstract thought at all. I can immediately tell when I am talking to someone with an accounting background. They are usually one step away from wearing a safety helmet or having to wear diapers during the day.
Nicholas Cook
It's finance, folks here love prestige and CFA in your signature sells.
Also once you go for beers/drinks with our clients, CFA topic will always emerge. People who passed it will say how hard was that so it's a good time to buy more drinks. Other people will say how they want to pass it once - you buy more drinks.
>we're heading into a global currency crisis emerging markets derivatives desk here, we're in crisis mode since April
This. I want to open insurance agency one day and sell it to local folks.
>12th business day >hit shift + enter to run report >I've set up reports to be fully automated >reports get sent to 10 different teams >roughly 15 executives review them >they provide forecasts and projects on emerging trends and identify any odd ball trends so we can research and get behind them before they are a thing >wait 29 days to press shift + enter again >make $90k/year salary
I can not even explain how much time I waste, it would boggle your fucking minds.
Bentley Rivera
Yeah. Doesn't really work like that if your white. You have to prove you looked for work for 35 hours p/w. Then you get maybe £80 and some rent. Easier to get a job. Trick is too get tism payments. Then you can neet.
Nathaniel Diaz
okay omw then i guess
Hudson Reed
That's why its dominated with chinks
Caleb Gray
well you get these stereotypes even while in college, coming mainly from rich kids that do shit like psychology etc. so you can never take that serious. take care mate.
Alexander Allen
It's a signal and heuristic for HR people and clients. It's hard as fuck to pass but you start brain dumping most of it he second June is over. Learn to program instead. It will pay greater dividends.
Hudson Russell
>get up 7am >need to piss but check pol first >shitpost for an hour >finally piss >eat something >stare at my monitor for the next 12 hours >shower and go to bed >repeat
Look a Jew with a mountain of gold Empty promises of wealth if you do what you're told Work and work until your old He laughs in his mansion while you die of a cold
Joseph Robinson
>So why's capitalism so great again?
In the world you want the government would assign you a fucking job and then jail you if you don't go.
Adrian Ortiz
Would you accept a chill mexican dude?? I could make delicious tacos and spicy salsa for you and your family
Connor Howard
Live like a King in Thailand.
Nolan Hughes
Yeah, anyone sub-125 has no idea what's about to happen.
I see Lira then Euro (through Spain, Italy) then USD. Sound about right?
USD is least dirty shirt, but you still wouldn't wear it to synagogue.
Owen Brooks
Get a bottle newfag.
Aiden Morris
nice
Connor Howard
You wil understand in about a decade, when you have an awesome life. Sounds like all you have to do is head down the path you are on, have more than 100 IQ, and you will be just fine. Man the fuck up, op
Jordan Bennett
Absolutely agreed. Regarding the programming - VBA, Python, SQL help a lot atm when working in Finance. The problem is that actually working with clients is fun. Sure you have stress you hate, time pressure, mind-numbing tasks etc. but in the end you have a lot of social interactions and every day something new happens.
In programming you have the same set of people every day and you just code. It's great as a side skill, but coding 5 days a week sounds dull, as it's basically all the dullnes of finance, but with no interaction and with better base salary as junior and mid-level employee.
It confused me when I studied it years ago doing AAT.
You have to think it is recording cash only. Therefore you start at PBIT and add back any expenses that aren’t actual deductions of cash, eg depreciation, and deduct any increase in profit that is not an increase in cash eg increase in receivables, takes a bit of getting your head around at first as you’re adding back expenses and deducting gains
Connor Campbell
What I dislike the most is how everyone in my office talk about markets and discuss the news playing on the tv (CNBC) like they are actually engaged professionals in it. We're in FP&A for gods sake lol
Nicholas Young
Doesn’t everyone do this? All that room... cmon
Anthony Miller
>wasting your time with worthless stuff like CFA
that's on you, based retard
Andrew Wood
OP, leave the industry and go into tech. Unless you want to chase clients and suck their dicks constantly, be utterly expendable at all times, work yourself into an early grave, or be some mid-level douche making a 'decent' salary doing unfulfilling work, please stay in the industry.
Henry Price
>half of pay check goes to rent
>waste more money on studies when you cant even afford to live
why are you going into financial planning or advising when you are objectively a fucking idiot with zero ability to plan 2 steps ahead?
seriously.
>half your income on rent
Isaac Bell
Some possibilities are too scary to consider in polite conversation. You're talking about people's life savings, safety, dreams, and aspirations
