Why is it, then, that 3/4 of them don't have full-time employment?
To be charged with first degree murder in Canada basically means it was either planned, contracted, involving hostage taking/kidnapping, terrorism or there was a significant sexual element present (ie. Rape).
The authorities already said it was random in so far that the assailant and the victim had no prior knowledge of each other or contact.
The authorities have already said that they have found no religious motive nor terrorist motive.
The authorities refuse to answer wether or not there was a sexual element to the crime as that may bias the judiciary proceedings.
A notable Canadian criminologist has weighed in stating that based upon what we know he strongly believes she was sexually assaulted and/raped.
Said criminologist also stated that in light of the nature of the crime, he believes that the assailant left the house with the intention to obtain sex, regardless of the means (ie. Rape), and that the victim just happened to be the unlucky target. He strongly believes another woman could have been the victim in the event Marissa Shen was not present as an opportunity.
