Blacks were making steady gains in terms of civil and economic equality in the 50's and 60's. Many of them fought in Korea, some in early vietnam for the first time alongside their white countryman. There was a genuine sentiment that blacks could be something more than part of the permanent underclass.

But powerful democrats disagreed. If blacks had strong families and began gentrifying, they would no longer be compliant, easily manipulated, policed or controlled as they had been under the Southern Old families, the northern mafiosos or the KKK.

So they flooded their communities with drugs, and then criminalized drug use. They introduced welfare. Gave them access to easy abortions while at the same time promoting a culture of promiscuity. They killed their leaders who had an idea of what was going on, namely Malcolm X and MLK and replaced them with patsies like Rev. Al Sharpton. They also integrated schools, but they did so with the intention of destroying black success academically, while at the same time promoting a subculture which looks down at succeeding academically.

Each of these things were a targeted campaign of destroying the functional black family and replacing it with state dependence, making them stupid, violent and otherwise in a state of listless, dependent outrage that bites the hand that feeds them.

That's why most successful blacks leave the "hood" and never fucking look back.

No they chose it. Look at Africa and you won't see any European/East Asian type family units. The men typically go from woman to woman even with the influence of Christianity or Islam. This is just the natural behaviour of African men and so after the civil right reforms, when blacks in the US gained a lot of power in the US, the pressure to hold the family unit together disappeared all together. That being said, much of the black community before the civil rights reforms were also shit.
