The Saudis, for all of their faults, have the foresight to roll back their entitlement programs every time the oil market takes a dip. Socialist governments like Venezuela can't really do this effectively without risking internal turmoil that the Saudis don't have to deal with.

There is no real world. We're a chemical reaction that self replicated and grew in complexity by the simple fact that the reaction that replicated kept happening. Millions of years later, we're still replicating, because nothing stops it. There's no value in building something, or drawing something, or replicating more, beyond the value we assign to it ourselves.
Learning to draw as hobby doesn't make you a better person, it doesn't make the world a better place. Building a car or shed, or whatever the fuck doesn't change the world. These are all just things we assign value to because a vast interplay of systems, conception, misconceptions, rules, instincts, tradition, etc., which smash together to create something so far removed from "reality" as to be meaningless.
If you can support it, and you find some fulfilment in it, then it has as much value as anything in the world does.
