Originally from just outside of Chicago, Illinois, I moved to Washington in 2010 immediately after graduating with a degree in International Studies from the University of Illinois.

Community

I have a proven track record in giving back to the community. As a student at Illinois, I was the Coordinator for Student Outreach at the university’s career center. This position enabled me to provide valuable career search workshops directly to the student population.

I continued his work with community groups as a new resident in D.C. I was a Volunteer Computer Instructor at the District of Columbia Library, where I taught free workshops that focused on a variety of computer skills—like using Microsoft Office and setting up personal email accounts.

I am also a regular volunteer at events sponsored by the Living Classrooms Foundation, which inspires young people to achieve their potential through hands-on education and job training, using urban, natural, and maritime resources as "living classrooms."
Career

In my career, I have spent time in government and tech. My past experience includes workforce and real estate systems planing, interning at a U.S. Senator’s office, and working as an account manager at a small internet-based communications firm. I was also a Boren Scholar in Beijing, China from 2007 to 2008.

Additionally, I just completed a master’s degree in Public Administration from the Trachtenberg School of Public Policy and Public Administration at the George Washington University.
Personal

I am an avid cyclcist, runner, hiker, and enjoyer of all the fun things that D.C. has to offer. On any given weekend, you can find me biking on the trails in Rock Creek Park, lounging with roommates on our front porch, or enjoying a papusa at Haydee’s Restaurant.
