While I think you're right to criticize DS and TRS for their complicity I think you're missing a bigger point. DS and TRS are very influential to marginal figures. NRO, Weekly Standard, WSJ, and Fox News are much more influential to the people making decisions. Always ask who reads this periodical, how many is of secondary importance.

the point is that alt-right media is not serving to counter the neocon media anymore now that trump is with the neocons. they are too attached to trump worship. so now there is a very weak pushback on the neocon narrative compared to a couple of years ago.

Too many fell into Trump worshipping. The idea of Trump as a fuck you to the establishment was attractive, but some people wanted Trump to push certain policies. Trumpism after Trump is a difficult thing for many to understand. People unaccustomed to politics confuse form with function. They didn't understand that Trump was not a White Nationalist, but just a rich guy with decent instincts. Trump can't be bribed, but he can be persuaded. Trump needs to be cool. Now that he's surrounded by Neocons he needs them to think he's cool.

However 4d chess, Q larps, and FTN whitepills have convinced a lot of people that Trump can never screw up. When he succeeds that's obvious. When he fails this is merely an elaborate ruse in which he will succeed later. I think it reflects quite poorly on his fans that they could fall for this.

The Iran Deal was only opposed by the Likud party. Ironically it would serve the long term interests of Israel, but it's just another way for them to control the US. Iran isn't a real nuclear threat. Both KSA and Qatar have nukes that don't concern Israel at all. Quitting the Iran Deal was a major unforced error on Trump's part.

Bannon spread rumors that McMaster hated Israel to try to get him deposed. Ironically those rumors bought McMaster some support on the far-right. McMaster was just a high-IQ establishment hack who thought Russians had stolen the election.

I can be hard to admit that you failed. Most people view politics as something that they have to deal with ever 4 years. Only weirdos actually care what happens. Trump's election was mission accomplished for them, not the start to a journey. As such they didn't pay attention where this leads. I'll admit I was overly optimistic, but at least I realized eventually that Trump wasn't serious about the only parts of his agenda that mattered.
