Everyone hated republicans, the iraq war was bullshit, our freedumbs were being taken away by worthless neocon shitheads, google was amazing and fighting the good fight against oppressive corporations for the everyman (there were some conspiracy theorists back then saying google was going to go full evil with how much control they were getting). The biggest political fights in Jow Forums's early days were atheism vs religion, which in retrospect I think was the prototype for identity politics divide and conquer bullshit.

I remember watching the logical and firm arguments made by atheists getting btfo literally OVERNIGHT by le hat tip meme. It was kind of amazing and really showed me how much more important and effective emotional arguments are vs logical arguments.
