Well, it really depends.
For men and women: your brain becomes less flexible with age. So you can still learn stuff when older (music or whatever) but it's unlikely you will become very good at it.
But you can certainly keep developing for all your adult life.

It's completely false, though, that women have time. They need to make kids before 40, and before 30 ideally. After that they're toast; cool wine aunts indeed.

Don't be stupid. Even if you started at 35 you would keep doing. It's worth learning engineering or any other valuable skill.
