I like Stefan because he is right on a lot of issues.
I hate Stefan because he makes my logical part of my brain dislike almost everyone and everything around me.
This is why I think people hate him here, that he is correct on really touchy subjects, and that its annoying for you to know he is accurate on a lot of it, the hate comes from there being nothing you can do about it without completely isolating yourself from almost everyone and everything.
I think this is what Stefan has gone through. He himself isolated himself from his family, and old friends and old acquaintances, and he formed his own family (wife/child) and developed new friendships with like-minded people.
He wants all of us to do the same, he wants us to drop everything, and form our own families, and become friends with like-minded people. The problem is this is not always possible, and for some its impossible.
The hatred of Stefan comes from the fear that deep down you know he is right and that you cannot do anything about it. It is a natural reaction to want to hate him for it.
