Parts of it are literally true, parts are allegory. For example, the Genesis flood story is older than Judaism and is part of oral traditions suspected of being over 10k years old. Also the mark, Luke, John stories are all generally the same, but were each written to appeal to a different audience so the details vary.

To add on, the Flood is also mentioned in Gilgamesh, the oldest piece of literature available. I think Matthew and Luke were derived from the narrative part of Mark.

Others are not relatable, but give you a very valuable thought experiment, as you think to yourself, "Why did they want to pass this on? What motivated this? What changed?"
