Depends on how prepared you are. Preparation always makes rough times easier to weather.

I’ll give you a rundown as someone in the military and just tall enough in position to stare over the fence.

1. We are preparing for a miniature ice age. I don’t know if it’s in the 20s though.
2. China is expected to default (I don’t think they are preparing for this either which means A. They don’t know or B. They are planning something when that happens.
3. There are talks to declassify a portion of the presidential secret book but I don’t know what’s in it.
4. We are expecting to make more bases in Europe and possibly Philippines again if Duterte stops being a pussy.
5. 5g networks are being pushed for us.
6. Venezuela is going to receive aid.
7. Expect slight increase in crime.
8. We expect global markets to make an overall dip after China implodes. We are preparing a credit chip based currency if our dollar value drops but it’s not really on the table now.
9. Russia will probably accept a few million Chinese refugees but this is purely my own speculation.
10. The Space Force is going to be directed as a means of both exploring space and defending the US from space. It will be the most advanced branch in human history. We already have many officers being trained in the AF for it.
11. I didn’t mention mass arrests because we expect it to take place very soon and therefore not in the 20’s.

I don’t think there will be any major wars. We would need a big reason at this point which we simply lack.

On #9 I think it might actually benefit Russia depending on how fast Chinese can assimilate. Knowing Putin and Russia in general they would probably use Chinese for farms. Any useful trades would be put to use only after they have assimilated culturally and linguistically. The down side is a lot of families will probably be split off and we’ll see something akin to the Berlin Wall. I’ve heard people talk about when it happens the Chinese will migrate westwards towards India but I know too many Indians to believe that’s an option. Others say they would try to go to Southeast Asia which might be possible for southern Chinese but overall no nation will just allow a few hundred million refugees through their territories. Sadly I believe tens of millions will die before a real reformation process takes place, but because of effected countries from economic turmoil it might be impossible to send aid. That’s assuming the dictators aren’t prepared in some way though. I wouldn’t put it past them though. They have a “good enough” attitude with their policies and it almost always end up not working correctly.

Extended peace, on the other hand, seems utopian on the surface but carries many downsides - including stagnation of societal structures, increased unreleased tension, lack of purpose, lack of significant technological progress, etc.

Probably even worse than then the previous decades combined starting from the 70s.

It could be possible that the Chinese can assimilate to a degree. In the event of a Chinese economic implosion, there's also a possibility that if it gets particularly bad and they eat each other, the CCP will blockade major population centers in a similar light as the siege of Stalingrad and Leningrad, or possibly Bosnia or Yugoslavia. That might trigger the exodus, but not without millions upon millions of casualties just from starvation, lack of hygiene, and lack of basic medical care.

There's also the logistics of getting to an economic center in Russia. Much of it is uninhabited with a bitterly harsh climate, which will cull numbers further, assuming Russia doesn't just transport refugees in the first place.

Chinese assimilate economically extremely fast. They work for expired peanuts in the homeland, and they maintain fairly close family and in-group networks when isolated from the homeland. The influx of money is oftentimes orders of magnitude larger and they will work their asses off. They tend to isolate themselves culturally. Many Asians are like that anyways.

SEAs may take in a few ten thousand per country, but they're no fan of the Chinese either. EAs definitely do not want them. Along with economic implosion, NK is going to feel the hurt really bad considering that's the one country they depend on the most. Guaranteed tensions in the Norks and probably another conspiracy to commit to a coup.

Either way it's a mess, way more to cover than a Japanese artisanal glassblowing forum could hope to cover.
