Dear Oldfags,
what's happening to society?
Was it ever so bad?
Can you tell me how it was live before the 2000s?
Sincerely,
Doomer

it was pretty much the same as now, except that it was much better in every single aspect
but computers and internet were much slower, so win/win
All I can say is this: the downfall was beginning in the 1950s with the shallow, consumerist mindset that was beginning to spread and make the people rootless with no loyalty to their nation but to the next new corporate fad that'll come and go.
What aspect are you wanting to know about? I graduated in the early 90s. The biggest scares that I recall were (in order least to greatest):
- Fresh water depletion.
- Ozone depletion.
- Y2K "bug"
Story about Y2k: my dad was a DJ for a local radio station at the time and he worked the night shift. On December 31st of 1999 he planned it just right so that at midnight he'd play "Lights" by Journey. The first line is the comedic value he was going for. Here's the song for those uninitiated:
did Lauren Rose ever come back or is she still MIA?
i miss her
Where people more friendly and outgoing?
I have to endure the kings and queens of social media to tell me what to think.
How was that done? Marketing?
Never been worse. Globalism was slowly eating into the economy in the eighties and nineties, but most white collar white people didn't notice.
I remember political correctness being a novelty at college in the late eighties. It seemed harmless at the time. The blossoming of the Internet in the late nineties made it seem like we were on the precipice of a new golden age.
Shes active on twitter but idk if she still posts videos
Did the world change at all, according to you?
Around 1970, tv shifted into liberal indoctrination. Out with rugged west, in with inner city sympathy. By the 90’s it was about dumbing down America. Society was a reflection of what it watched on tv.
In that regard it's much the same as it is today. The difference really comes with technology. Kids these days are getting into what we would've called "teen attitude" far earlier than they did back then. Technology back then didn't have the same effect on people. Kids had pagers (I had one in high school) and would send "coded" messages from pay phones. We didn't shut society out.
She's still there. Active at Twitter. Doesn't make vids anymore, especially after the JFG debacle.
How did people look at the future? Especially before 9/11.
So movies before the 1970 aren't pozzed? So when did mobile phones (did they call them like that?) come around?
You will never get to experience El Duce in concert
youtube.com
Back then we only had Four F's, until that madman Kavanaugh upped it to six.
Drums: El Duce
Guitar: Sickie Wifebeater(possibly Bret Kavanaugh wearing a black rape hood)
Bass: Dr. Heathen Scum
Find her, feel her, fuck her, forget her
First you, you gotta find her
If she's an airhead you never mind her
You search throughout every club in the land
It's better than using your hand
You find yourself a real dumb chick
Someone to get down on your dick
Then you know what you got to do
You take her home now for a screw
You got to
Find her, feel her, fuck her, forget her
t. 80's Metal vet.
The meme answer will be Jews, Freemasons, or some other secret society. Truth is I don't know. But I have a theory: government expansion and corporations that made it big during the war decides to use state power to diminish small pop and pop community businesses and double down on commercialization, especially with the rise of family tvs. Not to mention the natural downfall of civilization; strong men bring good times, good times bring weak men.
Ironically enough a book by the godfather of modern day Islamic extremism named Sayyid Qutb explains this in depth when he went to school in the late 1940s. It's called "The America I Have Seen" if you're interested. He also describes the downfall of the American church and lax morality of women then.
I remember in the early 90s cell phones were really too big and expensive. In the mid to late 90s we got those indestructible Nokia phones. If we were speaking specifically, we'd call them cellphones.. otherwise we just called them phones. "Mobile phone" was a phrase used, but not nearly as often -- I think it might be more popular in the northern states, Canada and UK.. but down here "cellphone" was the term we preferred.
>what's happening to society?
It's about (((their))) globalist agenda. They want to run a prison planet of border-less, race-less, culture-less, identity-less, subdued sheep. They make up 0.3% of the world's population, yet look at all they control from the world's finances to the media that brainwashes us.
In short, they use the entertainment and news media to encourage globalism and to discourage nationalism and traditional western values. They distort and lie about the past and present in that effort.

Old fag here
We are at a precipice
Could go either way
Trump for all of his faults is trying to restore balance
Balance in immigration
Balance in free trade
Balance btw owners and workers
Balance btw govt powers and people’s rights
Balance btw America as the global police force and responsibility of other nations to protect themselves
The most important thing you can do right now is to vote Republican so that he can complete his agenda
AfterTrump, fuck the Republican Party. Lets all hope their is an alternative to the leftist or neocon choices of today.
Good music fun times, PC nonsense was laughed at for the most part kept to university safe spaces. late 1990's is when it all turned to shit and Globalist forces really made themselves apparent.
It’s strange how things have changed. Like people used to just hang out and play vid ya together at home. Now we do shit online. Girls weren’t so much of assholes and politics weren’t a big fucking decisive issue as they are now.
Most of this degeneracy had its poz seed planted in the 90's. Bill Clinton, the "green" movement, women's rights (again), black rights, homosexual whatever.
stop romanticizing the past, it was shit
It was just as bad but we didnt know it cause the internet really wasnt a big deal yet.
I went Into London today, It was sunny and nobody smiled, the whole place has a depressing vibe.
Nobody really looks happy now, I'm not saying 30 years ago everyone went round grinning but the atmosphere didn't seem so gloomy then.
Some of it, sure... but not all of it. For example, common core didn't exist.
y'all niggas missed it...
>I went Into London today, It was sunny
BULLSHIT!
It's always been bad. The only difference is that with the internet, we all know about it. We're inundated w/ the worst of what society gas to offer. In the past we kept our heads buried in the sand and pretended everything was alright.
>Can you tell me how it was live before the 2000s?
Everything was shit but there was at least a gentleman's pact where everyone would get along anyway, also women were still sort of sane; hard to believe I know. All in all it was pretty tolerable.
It seems bad now but get yourself right with God and you will be fine.
I graduated in 1984. God how I miss those days. no computers, well, we had TRS-80's and Commodore 64s and shit, but no internet at all. No cell phones. Everything was simple.
You went out with your friends on a Friday or Saturday night, and you drove around and found other friends. You would all go to a house party, or drink on the beach. Around midnight you would call your mom on a payphone and tell her everybody was going to the midnight movie, and could you be home late. Then you partied until 3am. Sleep it off till noon then go surfing and do it again the next night.
You had to work a bit to get laid, but the girls were WAY better.
I'm so confused because it seems everyone knew what was coming but no one did care to stop it. Maybe the tide changed when the Internet came around? Or is it the same shit all over again?
Sounds more official and professional than "smartphone".
So I have to quite games and news media to make a "difference"?
Sounds like a good plan. Thanks. I'm Europoor but I'll do the same.
Does this make you feel sad? I don't have any memories of previous events, my first memory about the wider world was 9/11.
So it was more degenerate, but didn't approach mainstream?
Where did all the good gentleman go?!?
It is always getting worse. Every decade sets new lows, though as a 39 year old, the accelerated decline from 9/11 to the 2008 crash was particularly bad, from my perspective, especially the New Labour police state mobilization.
>a gentleman's pact where everyone would get along
Bullshit. We were just as awful to each other in the 60's 70's 80's etc.. Are you even old enough to remember the LA riots?
Hah no its true. it was chilly but very sunny.
Welp.
38 here
When i was in elementary school we have the first batch of 3rd wave feminists teaching kids. Boys like me were loaded up with ritalin to shut us up. Girls were given preferential treatment. It was just like you would imagine and all true.
>Sounds more official and professional than "smartphone".
Smartphones didn't come around until like 2004. Even with that, though, I don't know anyone who calls them 'smartphones' today. We still just call them "phones" or "cellphone".
Those were nigs being nigs, and back then white people were sheepish/concerned about it happening not openly applauding it
Shame on you for considering nigs part of society
it's hard to say, since you change too and get older and still interact with mostly the same people you did before or people of similar age
but i'd say, food tasted better, people were more social and most people were optimistic and bluepilled
the government didn't keep track of your every move, since most things were paper based
bank savings interests were much higher, you could even live off your savings
there was much more leg room in planes and they weren't so fucking crowded
and many things like that, that affect your daily life
>Are you even old enough to remember the LA riots?
Now it's a riot over every dindu that dindu dindu nuffin. Rodney King was the spark to the powder for the Riots to happen not some hood nigger with a rap sheet with a length that makes John Holmes hang his head in shame beating his baby momma and then trying his chances with the cops and losing
>Can you tell me how it was live before the 2000s?
People laughed at Gays on the street, common morals were self enforced by society.
But the decay started in 1970 not in the 2000s, 2010 is when it start to go full degeneracy insanity.
>I'm so confused because it seems everyone knew what was coming but no one did care to stop it.
No one knew and no one cared. There's some truth to the NPC meme, most people don't care about politics. They just want a roof over their head and food to eat, not that there's anything wrong with that. Whatever is popular the general populace will follow. But even that took a while to bring in effect. It wasn't like the 1960s came and liberalism became default. The seed was planted in the 1940s and began to grow in the late 1940s to 1950s. In the 1960s it was in full bloom and spread its seedlings afterward. What we see today is the aftereffect. The solution is to plant a seed of nationalism soon and have its effects take hold in the next decades. How easy this will be I'm not sure about. But it can be done, it just won't be a walk in the park.
Boys commits suicide now.
Yeah, now the government can't keep track of its shit or it's hiding real information, like immigration rates, for example.
What about tattoos? Where they widespread as today?
Cute bird ...looks like Jane Asher
Oh wow that's really hot. That's like so hot wow.
In the 90's you could feel the tide pushing the wrong direction. Everything that was cool, you knew, was gonna go away over time.
It's like that now, but opposite
People weren't so fat.
I thought it was "find em fool em fuck em forget em" either way works I guess.
man, slower computers were actually pretty nice
computer programs actually had to be written efficiently, and websites couldn't have 512mb of low quality javascript running all over the place
Weird. I was listening to a speech by Khamenei where he is talking about qutb visiting a church in the US and he finds of the state of it disgusting and can't understand why the priest allow a drinking party inside the church grounds
What about tattoos? Where they widespread as today?
No they were not ,but they were not seen as properly degenerate but as retarded.
The kind of thing you do to become unemployable and show the world you are retarded.
Hell took over after 9/11.
I think it's impossible for the understand the past. It's like a completely different continent.
Read fate of empires by Sir John Glubb. We made our chefs celebrities already, it's only a few more decades
No, no, no. Eraser's lyrics are
>Need you, dream you, find you, taste you, use you, scar you, fuck you, break you.
Avenatti needs to get his shit straight. Trent Reznor would not be happy.
Have you ever heard of flower power? I'd take this ages liberals over those god damn hippies any day.
Life had not yet gone full retard.
I bemoan the way life is now for you newfags.
The world has gone beyond a level of full retardation that I never thought possible.
Fucking this
It makes me more angry than sad. Especially since people, on the whole, disagree with bullshit (like the KAV shit) but still vote for dems because it’s whats “popular”. Like we had fucked up television like ren and stimpy, cool Japanese anime crossovers, all of which were lewd and offensive, but didn’t promote this bullshit multi-gender narrative. We could talk to women without thinking, is she gonna see me as sexist. Shits crazy now. In my life I’m looking for a nice white girl or Spanish girl to marry, but I love ghetto blacks because they love men being men and women being women. The whole gender role has been fucked and now you got this cucking sensation and black dick imaginary lust. It’s so retarded
>what's happening to society?
>Was it ever so bad?
The big difference between then and now is people MINDED THEIR OWN BUSINESS.
It was a polite and respectful thing to do and a core part of being a man.
Now everyone thinks their entitled just to meddle in others beliefs, countries, sexuality, politics, relationships, diet, etc.
this happened because of social media. Privacy and then personal speakers and respect was destroyed because everyone became a meddlesome mother.
Now the other places you find respect of privacy and minding your own business are all male situations like the military and prisons for example.
I also suspect this all ties in as a factor with so many faggoty kids today thinking they’re women and chopping their cocks off.
People are the same, it's just people are more encouraged to be faggots and idiots than ever before.
Society and life has gotten worse with every single decade sind the 90s in which I thought we had reached rock Bottom, Boy how wrong I had been! Just take any aspect of Society and watch it grow more leftist, more insane, more degenerate, more decadent and more vile and evil. Now you are here.
It was fun and the future looked bright, then jet fuel melted steel beams...
I used to play the computers built in card games or doodle on paint when I had dial up
I was born in 1984 but have a vivid and fond memories of 1992 onwards.
Late 90s in England was great. Lots of exciting music, games were fun and creative, I didn't think movies in the 90s were too great but just my opinion.
People didn't take themselves as seriously. When Blair won in 1997 it felt as if the whole country's guy had won, it was surreal.
Even as a young adult I would knock at friend's doors and ask their mum if they were in, to save a phonecall.
It was a better time overall, but as an introvert you can be way more comfy these days than you could back then.
i have never seen a black person before 1984 and even than it was an american soldier.
in elementary school in the early 80s i had no non-europeans, just a few italians and greeks.
and i grew up in central west-berlin, the degenerecy capital of germany today.
it was safe for children to play for hours on end unsupervized outside
Here is what it was like to grow up in the 80s:
There were a lot of small towns that were 99% white. People left their doors unlocked. Kids went wherever they wanted on summer days, only had to be home by dinner. Worst subhumans that one might actually encounter were stoners, metalheads, and drunk rednecks. Niggers stayed in their ghettos. Muslims stayed in their shitholes and nobody worried about them. TV was all about shark attacks and nigger attacks and politicians who can't keep their dicks in their pants. In other words, pissant bullshit compared to the corruption of today. People actually went to jail for serious crimes like the S+L scandal. The Satanic Panic was so outlandish that nobody believed it. Most of the attempts at censorship came from right wing Christians. PC was a weird cult that got made fun of on Saturday Night Live. You could get a job (especially a tech job) by walking in and showing the boss your Kung Fu. Decent women could still be found. If you wanted to learn something, you went to the library. Video games were simple and therefore weren't too addictive. Porn would have been 320x200 resolution with 4 colors chosen from a palette of 16. You were actually better off looking for porn in the woods. Some people found it. Still rare though. We made due with Sears Catalogue underwear models.
i remember computers from the early 90s, it would take them 20min to open a jpeg
i don't think a fast computer is bad
just don't use the newest version of software and it will run pretty well, most of the time
discouragement
lack of self esteem
no positive reonforcement
god loves you and has a plan for you.
it might actually be a scene from a outrageous hollywood movie.
really makes you think.
I think it was always this bad. We just didn't notice because conflicting information wasn't as widely available via the internet.
Even in the 80s, there were people saying the 50s were better. I bet future generations will say the post-Obama era was pretty good.
Must have been awesome in 1850.
In the early 90s I didn't even have VGA. I was still chilling with EGA. Porn back in those days.. wasn't the greatest. I do miss some of the games, though. Epic Pinball, for example.
Television was great back in the day, just so much fun shit to watch. We have way more channels now but so much less worth watching.
ah, i dealt with early to mid 2000's computers
they were the sweet spot between just slow enough to force people to write things carefully and just fast enough to be usable with minimal waiting
totally comfy and mostly white in the US. that world is dead and isn't returning. Norway still has a future, just learn from our mistakes. also oppose any Jewery in your country. multiculturalism is the slow death, never forget that
Fuck no...trannies and faggots were still classified as freaks of nature, nobody gave a fuck about their needs. You cold literally kill a faggot in Brazil and they would buy you a beer.
Now you have to buy the cop a six pack so he helps you bury the body.
Everyone was generally happier without the 24/7 propaganda cycle because you actually had to form your own opinions by conversing with other people rather than have the most radical version of the party's ideology rammed down your throat. Shit wasn't nearly as expensive and the pervasive fear that permeates our society didn't exist.
But one thing is better today for sure.
The wall is gone!
Fuck those communists
I couldn't go to the end of my parents street, now i can.
The 50s were better than the 80s.
>Now you have to buy the cop a six pack so he helps you bury the body.
Brazil sounds like a neat place.
You think social made this do to people? Will it ever stop?
KUNG FU lol
Yeah, the past sounds like a movie.
It never ends.
Bernays
It' ending.
Graduated in the early 90s. Biggest shift I have seen is the rise of social media. Only about 25% of the population has anything intelligent to say. Before social media you were somewhat shielded from idiocy, if you mingled with idiots it was by choice, most likely because you were an idiot. Media, for good or bad, filtered out alot of idiocy. There was a golden period, just before Facebook and Twitter etc, where intelligent I dividuals could share there ideas over the internet through forums, blogs etc. But then it becomes real easy with a tweet of Facebook post. Then you realized by and large humanity is nothing but a bunch of reactionary monkeys
We actually covered this song out gigging back in the day.
Just for kicks and shock value.
Plus, we already basically knew the song because the main riffs are lifted from Sabbath's Children of the Grave.
Classic El Duce appearance on Springer, shortly before he was murdered for naming Allen Wrench as Kurt Cobain's killer.
youtube.com
Rape Victim: Do you think boys can do this to girls? Take their innocence away when they don't want it?
El Duce: Well, they're fucking advertising for it
Rape Victim: I WAS TWELVE YEARS OLD!!!!!
El Duce: Well, ya gotta start some time.
Kek. The balls on that fucking guy.
RIP El Duce, you were a Metal God amongst mere mortals
Will (((they))) ever stop? Not until somebody does it. But ((they))) certainly are more powerful than ever, so is universal liberalism and materialism and multi-culturalism. But the controlled Opposition cannot even address the (((culprits))). So probably not before the American Empire collapses. If it ever does, probably not in this century.
This is the future of darkness NS propheciszed, if (((they))) were to win. And you are right in the middle of it.
30 years ago you had very little worries. Sure if you didn't have a job or a brain then you had difficulty but that's much the same now.
Now it's a fucking shame having a child. I have a child. Love him dearly but regret with all my heart having him. I hope he dies before me because the worrying of dying leaving him in this shitty world is beyond torture.
The world I knew is dead. I don't even speak to people under 40 anymore, completely refuse. I don't have TV or radio anymore and my kid is homeschooled to save him.
I sincerely wish for forced sterilisation, the return of Hitler, genocide or nuclear suicide.
I would say things are a bit worse yes.
>You think social made this do to people?
Yes I think it’s a huge part of it.
The more time passes the more deliberate it seems that social media was structured to break down people and communities and replace the void with social programming over time, while extracting information.
It’s a very big problem, it never used to be like this. The way we used to interact was simply different and it was shunned to be so narcissistic and pretentious to share such personal information with everyone like people do on SM so today
I remember this. In school, it was common to hate fags. Most kids didn't even know why (except dick+butt=gross). But we knew we better not do anything that might look faggy.
Something like this is unimaginable today.
funny story...
Friend of mine was celebrating his B-Day....a couple of us take him out for dinner, we have a few and decide to go peruse the town...
Tranny is on the corner trying to entice my friend...pimp is with the creature, tells it to show its asshole...the tranny does it....my friend kicks it so hard in the asshole it starts to scream bloody murder....the man voice comes out..."mother fucker, mother fucker my asshole..." friend replies: "stop crying, I am sure you have had worse up there"
Pimp gets pissed, friend punches him square in the face...we are laughing our asses off...Friend of tranny calls a cop, we explain the story, cop has a disgusted look on his face, tells the degenerates to fuck off before he shoots them in the face.
Good times.
i want to kiss her on the cheek
>what's happening to society?
the same things that have happened before, nothing new under the sun.
>Was it ever so bad?
it was much better and much worse. people assume that the times they are in are the worst because they are experiencing it right now but that's the same for every generation.
>Can you tell me how it was live before the 2000s?
ups and downs for everyone, you think anyone has the answer to that?
Ok, there was less immediate information available so people used to be more relaxed/oblivious. it made life a bit better.
ne thing that comes with age is the realization that all those things that made you mad, upset and angry are now gone because you've learned it don't matter at all what you do with it so best try and have a good life.
Fast computers and the internet is precisely why it became infested with normies, and are partly to blame for the current degeneracy. I'm a doomer too and the internet back in the early to mid 2000s was still pretty fringe, you had to manually get on the internet by connecting to your ISP and it also blocked the phone line, so accordingly the internet was pretty small and mostly comfy special interest websites and news and emails.
>*crack*
>*sip*
Yep, AOL. Now that was a good internet
t. 30% white country from 100% in 1940
There was a paradigm shift that I have not yet figured out how to explain to anybody who is not old enough to have lived through it.
It used to take great effort to get access to a public platform where you could be heard and seen by more then a few people. The underclass was still there. People still fucked. people still did drugs (more&better actually, except for weed) there were even still people who were not white and people who were gay and all the types of things that really hurts Jow Forumss feelings, but people were not going around sticking cameras at it 24/7. Hell, you couldn't, unless you knew how to develop your own film. Many of the social media pictures these days would have been burned by a commercial photo developer, and you'd have been banned from using their service.
There was more crime too, probably due to there not being cameras everywhere.
But this is nothing compared to the socialization aspect. The difference between people who could only socialize irl and those who have grown up always experiencing the existence of remote socialization is night and day.
We have an entire generation of men who have never had to back themselves up physically when socializing with other males, unlike every human who came before them.
And even then, remote socialization is not necessarily bad, it's probably a net benefit to be able to communicate with people regardless of geographic logistics. Nobody's ever locked into an intellectual situation anymore, except by choice.
But I'm not sure if things are really "bad", you just spend a lot of time around people (like Jow Forums) who form an identity whining about things.
I'm in my 50's and I remember being a little kid and hearing people constantly bitching about how bad things were and how much better they had it in days gone by. I'm pretty sure it's a sentiment that everybody shares, including me, I recognize it and try to ignore it but it's still there.
the 90s was full of leftist propaganda. the news was entirely leftist or leftist approved neocons. you really didn't have a choice. the only political choices anybody had were cultural. pro life v pro choice and normal marriage vs gay marriage. the dems and gop ran virtually the same economic policies, virtually the same on immigration and exactly the same on foreign policy.
we were being governed by one (((party))). it was only after the internet gained ground and people began to see through the massive lie. people had been trying to warn the public for generations but back then they totally controlled the vast majority of information the public saw and the internet was in it's infancy. very few normies were online in the 90s.
This is wrong but the least wrong
People have never minded their own business. Before you gossiped about your neighbors and fellow townspeople and whatever gossip rag you found at checkout at the grocery.
We now have unlimited information and can spend 24/7 mainlining every minute, pointless detail about anything we want. and it gets amplified by social media like screaming into the wind
Deep down we're just monkeys good at spotting patterns. Congrats, everything looks like a pattern this far up and everyone looks fucking crazy.
Life was better before computers and cell phones, people had more tolerance for each other and there were still respectful women.
