I mean, pic related are the ethnicities of "native" french people... As you can see, it's pretty much "le 56%" of Europe with Celts, Latins, Germanics… Also through history, it is known that French people got a lot of people of Portuguese, Polish or Slavic descent that migrated here… Let's not talk with the even more recent wave of Africans or people from Antilles (due to former colonies or current departments) that migrated here for generations and eventually blended here... Long story short: it's a mess.
So how Jow Forums genuinely define "Frenchs" or "France" in general? Is its own ethnicity, or is it part of Germanics, Latin, Celts… or other european people? Is it just a country from Europe or as our 5th constitution claim, a transcontinental country all over the world (Reunion, St Pierre et Miquelon, Les Antilles, Polynésie…) What's your take?
French are kind of unique, but I see them as Latinized Celts with some Germanic heritage as well. They are a real people.

France is a brand made by various Dictators during the time (Charles the Great, Louise XIV, Napoleon etc.) They just colonized and assimilated Germans, Celts, Dutch, Mediterraneans to the French nation.
