If you think you can tell apart p-zombies from normal people you're not understanding the p-zombie argument. The entire point is it's an argument for dualism where you try to establish all outwardly observable or otherwise physical factors can be held equal while still having a non-physical difference in the presence or absence of qualia. If you allow for noticeable differences in behavior then you can't make that argument since all else isn't equal then and the materialist can just point to the observable difference as evidence the issue is really a difference in behavior or physiology rather than anything non-physical.

So many people are getting this wrong that it greatly concerns me. The NPC meme originated from anons linking a 2011 or so study they found where a psychologist tested how many people in a college student group had an inner monologue. With it came the shocking revelation that only 20-26% of the tested subjects experienced internal monologue of some form. This meant 74-80% of people did not have inner monologue, and instead thought with a "stream of consciousness" devoid of sound and in some cases even imagery.

Many anons began to chatter about "how is it even possible to think without internal monologue", meanwhile armies of other anons arrived and began posting ultra generic replies like "lol if u hear voices then u just have schizophrenia MORON lmao" and etc. People rapidly began to confront family, friends, and randoms over whether or not they had an internal monologue.

Within 48 hours the consensus became that people without an inner monologue are the generic/bland/normo type people. They get very uncomfortable with anything being outside the norm or not fitting into the pack properly.

The issue even more is that those people who answered 'no internal monologue' was asked specifically only for the 30-60minute long experiment. NOT that they never had one, just that during this short time span they had little to none.

On top of it the survey was like 50 or so people not exactly conclusive. A very interesting find and something worth debating certainly but it is being misrepresented quite a bit. The meme is still pretty fucking funny though.
