polygraph's are a scam. They can't tell whether you're telling the truth or not, they can just tell if you're exhibiting signs of stress, and you can do that for many reasons aside from the truthfulness of your answers. When they give you the polygraph, they'll tell you you're lying and try to trick you into thinking they can read your mind, but they can't. plus, they can be cheated. there's no difference between a pain response and any other stress. Thumbtack in the shoe can work wonders.

trick is to pick a response and commit to it.

that's not true. they'll take you straight out of high school, especially sheriff's dept. If you're a deputy, you'll be a boot for 4-5 years working in custody before you ever hit the street, and when you do hit the street, you're TO generally views you as the most worthless maggot he's ever had the misfortune to train, and that last for 6 months, then after that, if you don't fuck up and get shipped back to custody, you become a real cop.

It's not that easy. Many departments don't require you to go to academy first so you get about 600 people showing up for a handful of positions. It goes like this.

>take a written test which 200 people wont even show up for
>take a "act in front of a camera test" which is subjective and makes you feel stupid

>take a physical test
I've seen people fail this one a lot too.

Once all that happens it's usually whittled down to about 200 people. That's 200 people fighting for 10 or 20 positions. Don't forget they do diversity hires and the military gets preferential treatment. (I'm fine with the military getting dibs)

After all that shit happens they start the long process of weeding people out with interviews and polygraph tests that are subjective. Sometimes you pass, sometimes you don't. It all depends on your reader.

So after a ton of interviews, tests, incredibly invasive questioning, you finally get to go to academy. Then you go through more physical testing and more book testing.

If you pass all that THEN you can be a police officer. The pay is good for non college educated people. The benefits are also pretty good.

Tried, they don't take candidates who score too high on the aptitude test up here (and I'm sure most places.)

Most of Jow Forums(myself included) couldn't do it because of how many niggers would get executed
I would break every rule and law in the book just to put a nigger in the dirt or in jail, so I know I wouldn't cut it.

Because I made the mistake of telling the truth the first time I took a polygraph, and the psyche examiner got all freaked out by me having seen CP.
I was pretty depressed for a while after that. I got my masters after that and I'm going to go for a bigger agency where the entry standards are much lower and there is more standardization, so they have less room to interpret things and have to follow procedure. Also more room to move around and specialty positions

We get respect from citizens. the only people who don't give respect to us are foreign workers and tourists.

Our stance is clear. we have grounds to shoot to kill. we're highly paid. a corporal gets roughly 2k USD basic and basically we don't even know who's internal affairs but crooked cops are busted very quickly due to efficient red teaming and internal monitoring.

It's not a terrible idea for Jow Forums to go to work for the State. But there are better jobs than police.

Police work pays terrible until you get old fat and useless. even then it requires you knowing someone to advance the ranks high enough to see good pay.
