If you look at the distribution of countries with universities that have Phds and map that to population of African origin, then the USA is the only real candidate.

Then consider how long the Nobel Prize has been out, whereas blacks in the US were lynched, bombed, segregated, barred from voting etc. until 1965. Barred from going to many universities etc.
