All of the arguments above against communism are "weak" in the sense they are claims about human nature that may or may not be true, like "all humans are egoist, therefore communism cannot work" or "there are no incentives under communism, therefore it cannot work". While I agree with them, proving them can be difficult.
Sometimes, but not always, commies retaliate to this by saying "but in principle, communism is a good idea". Thing is, communism does not even work in the realm of logic and ideas. And this is the strongest argument ever devised against communism (and socialism, and any system that abolishes private property and has central planning). It is called the economic calculation problem.
Commies and socialists abolish private property. Meaning nobody owns anything. Without private property there is no exchange of property by individuals that make value judgements. With no exchange of property, no prices are set. Without prices, commies and socialists don't have a rational (cost-efficient) allocation of resources. They simply cannot know which methods of production are best because they have no prices to compare. It is because of prices that we know that roads are better paved with asphalt than with gold.

That's exchange value. The use value goes up because there's more of a demand. Value is not subjective, the STV can't answer the problem Adam Smith and Riccardo created the LTV to deal with: what happens to prices and value if there's equal supply and demand? In Marxism, this is the LTV, when supply and demand are equal, the only "value" of the object is the labour time and cost of resources. If there's an equal supply and demand of pencils and cars, the car and the pencil aren't going to have the same value just because people want them the same are they? The car is clearly going to be more expensive because it cost more time and resources to make.
