growing your own food is literally at least a 3-5 year process from the time you plant, it takes quite a significant amount of time for these plants to grow to full size to begin producing full grown vegetables

peppers are a great thing to grow as well, require very little maintenance

bamboo as well, you can plant that shit anywhere and it will grow albeit slowly. great for building supplies.

Best one that I have.

Anyone got any underground houses or something?

+1

This is a DC-pump rainwater filtration system. (Water Organizing Module)

here's an excellent interview with an underground house builder, this girl has lots of good videos on her channel in general

Does the submerged greenhouse keep the plants out of permafrost?

this is a good video on composting

basically you need food trash and shredded paper - nitrogen+carbon

youtube.com/watch?v=1wltDnYKVE4

I tried something like this, you need a deep well-drained soil profile. With shallower soil profiles, you hit shitty subsoil and things start to get very wet the deeper you go. There is some protection from frost at that depth, but not enough, supplemental heating will be required in the winter.

Thanks

This is guide how to be perfect mindless drone.
It improves, don't complain on others and goes up in hierarchy of materialism.

The key is :Balance... it is always this in everything.

I have a homestead farm, being self sustaining is hard, especially alone. Maybe with a wife and a couple of kids or a couple of mexicans, but alone is hard, I work graveyard shift so Im home most of the day but asleep.
My goal was to be off the grid, I have solar but I realize I am going to need robots and automation to be able to get consistent results. A simple automatic feeder would save me the hassle of going out in the rain now, roombas could vaccuum for me, I have a 3d printer and Im very interested in the farmbot arduino project. Ive done experiments with Kratkey hydroponics on small scales and I can say its possible, but very difficult to grow your own food in an apartment or bedroom.

I still would drape forest veggies to hide it more if the poc eclipse was on.

you're not supposed to be a homestead farmer AND have a full time job, that's why it's hard

Long enough that the sun will go down, restarting the cycle.

>Nobody will notice this impossibly vertical pile of wood that looks exactly like a man-made structure from two different angles.
Seems like it could use a little work before it would fool any human.

The impact arduino and other dev boards can have in the right hands is honestly outstanding, I worked on a guided rocket project with a few mates from college with some outstanding results, the possibilities are endless and the hardware keeps getting more powerful. You could easily automate 80% of farming with enough ingenuity and persistence.

This is cool.

hold on lads taking a pic of my plants

oh yes...user, agreed/ this would just be the base framework. a hugelculture mound on one side....some hobbit grass sure. but its a starting point not finished point if camo it whats desired. heres my pepper crop this year. been pickin late havest pears all last 2 weeks.

Beautiful and cool

good luck with that lol
0,4 ha, grass for cow cow, pigs and so on

One thing you guys should look into is mushrooms and their impact on the ecosystem, a good book to start with would be mycelium running by paul stamets. I've started growing various mushrooms in my closet since I live in an apt but when I get land you can bet ill be doing mycoresoration as well as starting my own forest for my progeny to inherit.

if theres still roads in the poc eclipse

Attached: 387_2.jpg (729x291, 92K)

What

"Growing your own food is literally at least a 3-5 year process" Nice, now I know you are roleplaying as someone who has a mini farm. I planted lettuce 3 months ago and I have full grown lettuce now,how the fuck do vegetables take 5 years to grow? God damn this board is so retarded, its just a bunch of autists LARPing all the time.

Think he's implying the land isn't large enough, for cows I could see that although highland cows don't require as much land to graze as others afaik and goats could be another alternative for your milk/cheese needs

nice m8....contamination is tricky...but if you got yur method down...food and drugs for dayz... the cultures can start over and over...a high trade resource!

Attached: Capturerrdfsgw.jpg (505x389, 34K)

wow where do I buy magical peaches that grow in 3 months?

Attached: clean water is everything.jpg (1024x667, 120K)

1acre=0,4 hectare
and someone want to keep all this bullshit on such small land
my backyard is bigger

If you start with poor soil which is likely then calling it a couple years process isn't all that wrong, it can take many cycles of your chosen crops before the land is healthy enough to provide healthy crop.

I've got a few flushes out of some B+ so I'm going good. Rye to bulk using martha tek with an automated humidifier setup. Pretty good stuff, minimal effort and good output

if yur inna fishing area in the poc eclipse

Attached: maxresdefaultnnn.jpg (1280x720, 130K)

Ah ok. City user here doesn't know shit of living off the land. Just looked cool in theory

have fun surviving off your water lettuce, fag

in yur shit van by tha on river..lol

Attached: redneck-invention-emgn-25.jpg (1024x666, 66K)

Are you in a shit climate? Your peppers are small as shit and you seem to be covering them. What lat you at? My peppers are 1.5m tall atm.

as you cook beeneez onna shovel

Attached: spade.jpg (1024x1024, 129K)

how long have you been growing those plants?

northwest rainzone….but the blueberry, raspberry, grape harest wus amazing. most of our tomaterz and squash are in green houses. cant show too much.. but jealous of yur grow season bulgeriabro

Attached: not sunny like you m8.jpg (600x600, 89K)

Bout 5 months now. Admittedly the soil is very rich and first year ever sowed. Wish I had pics

This is nice but the house doesn't look to scale. One acre isn't very big at all. That two story house must be a single bedroom shack for it to be to scale.

that great to hear!..my m8 does a lot of shrooms...he want to do sum plugs in my alder logging this year to experiment.

Attached: nature approved.jpg (511x672, 49K)

Just be careful collecting rainwater. Some locations have laws in place that restricted collecting it. Not sure that would stop me but people should be aware.

Aren't potatoes just a 40 day crop? And you only need 6 to 8 inches of dirt, so a determined person could easily grow their own potatoes and play ancient Irish, right?

wtf how is that even possible

I've had mine for 6 months and it's tiny as shit it must be these shitty sees I'm getting over here in (((America)))

and this yuge cowshed and barn lol

So many zoning law violations and endangerment to yourself, other persons and minors, that's minimum a class E felony, my gay.

Attached: 1525895497842.gif (300x456, 567K)

>and play ancient Irish
be careful user

Plugs are a great method, vargs wife does some permaculture videos that may be of interest to you, I've certainly got a few ideas from em. Best of luck with em mate, paul stamets has some great books on anything myco related

gonna try this weekend for lulz...gotta lot of almonds to activate

Attached: my nutz.jpg (1281x705, 230K)

But it does entirely depend on if you have healthy living soil or dirt/clay/sand/mud, you can send soil samples off to labs for a detailed breakdown of their composition for relatively cheap and in doing so you ca work up a formula to ammend your soil with, Teaming with microbes in a good soil book, can't remember the author I believe it was jeff something, it has a list of natural amendments in it and at what rate to apply them.

Oy goy
Are you paying taxes on this piece of land? Don't want us to confiscate it do you? What, sell your produce. We will have to tax you on that. You will go under? Life tough. We can't all have everything handed to us. I do feel glad it's not me, but you better pay up or lose everything. Alright, alright we can help you. Just take out this nice little loan, and that should get you on your way to independence. Just make sure you pay it back. With the interest of course.

(YOU) thanks for the info m8!...gunna sign off anons..actually have sum farm chores before night shift....I hope this thread gets archived...comfy BUMP

Attached: ya gotta cook too.jpg (2012x944, 838K)

oh yeah...stockpile caches of food too, non city anons...I don't have the info-wars link though...kek

Attached: later fellas.jpg (822x294, 97K)

Earthships are not safe because the tires they are built from will decay and leak toxic gasses into the rooms.

Dirt bags are a better alternative.

With my recent dive into mycology I've picked up 24 1 quart mason jars, any anons got some good canning recommendations? Doubt I'll use more than 12 for my myco related business, book/videos welcomed.

Not even trolling, my HoA neighborhood doesn't allow you to grow most crops. The only things we're permitted to grow are herbs and tomatoes (must be less than 3ft tall otherwise we get fined)

I was really hoping for a different kind of /ss/

Attached: TIME FOR SS.jpg (500x700, 126K)

>3-5 years
>Vegetables
Maybe to get a nice little set up, but you should be able to do it the first year.

>farmfags think the Left wont confiscate their land and food

Its called seizing the means of production and literally every communist society has done it

my, what natural looking rectangular patterns

Someone hasn't been taking their supplements to enhance their patriot receptors. Amphibian sexual preference hangs in the balance while you mock turboamerican AJ. Shameful

That's why you fucks have then 2A, no? and if you're talking about us eurocucks then they can try but I'd sooner die and take as many of them as possible with me.

>they can try but I'd sooner die and take as many of them as possible with me
will you attack them with your spoon?

Shotguns are on a shall issue basis here senpai, need a permit for slugs though :/ well meme'd though, 9/11
