Hypothetical scenario.
Public park trash receptacle with a bench next to it. On that bench is a 'roided out looking guy eating a large pizza in its box. He finishes the pizza and places the box on top of the receptacle, blocking it and preventing its intended use.
Guy CCW'ing is walking a dog and like a good owner has to dispose of his dogs shit. So he goes to the receptacle, moves the pizza box onto the bench where the man is still sitting, and disposes of his trash.
The man on the bench pipes up - "You gonna put that box back?"
Dog owner states "You know if you crush that pizza box up and put it inside the receptacle it would not have been an issue."
Man on bench loses his shit.
CCW guy draws weapon and says "Calm down and do not come near me"
'Roid guy loses his shit even more.
Nearby wife and brother in law see all this and tell the already angry man about how right he is and how wrong CCW guy is until deathwish brother in law decides to give 'Roid guy a bat.
'Roid guy threatens death to the CCW guy despite bringing a bat to a gun fight, then decides to act on that threat.
'Roid guy gets shot to death.

Noone really know what happened except the Miller's and the wife and brother in law.
The initial story was old man Miller was conceal carrying his pistol and younger Miller was not on the scene until after his father drew.
If that's true neither of them went outside looking for a gun fight, but rather old man Miller was just wisely prepared for whatever may come.
But any decent lawyer can take the basic self defence story outlined above and get these two off, or at the very least plead down to lesser charges.

I'm no legal expert, but I'm guessing that anything that wasn't caught on video won't be permitted as testimony since there's literally no way to verify it. Prosecution will probably try to trick the obviously low IQ shirtless gang into a plea bargain. Of course, any defense attorney with two neurons to rub together will be able to get these guys off with a slap on the wrist as long as they can get them to shut up and not talk.

As a lawyer, I gotta say that this is going to be a really interesting case to see play out. Orange shirt guy isn't unarmed, he has a baseball bat that he throws at Old Shirtless. It seems that when the Orange Shirt guy's wife gets between them is where the crucial part of this case happens and we don't see it. If Shirtless and Shirtless say he appears to have readied his bat to strike and that's when Old Shirtless fires, there's a conversation to be had about justification. Young shirtless shooting after the bat his thrown could be argued as an instinctual reaction, the two gun shots AFTER the shotgun are where the murder charge is going to be a big deal, but again, can Old Shirtless argue that he'd just been hit with a bat and was scared? I don't know, but I think that'll be the crux of their defense. I think this might come down to a battle of lawyers, rather than law.
