It was great. You would find all these weird sites, because there was no facebook or google controlling what you saw. I once spent an entire afternoon reading about how Vinland was really Vancouver island. Also you had to really work for nudie pics. Like 5 minutes to download.

AMAZING.
I used to play TFC on AOL early dialup/dsl mix and I would lag hack on the map well.
Right before making a flag run I would start opening browser windows with videos like a mad man and it would lag out my connection so much that I could get past the turrets without dying. When the lag would come to I'd be on the other end of the room with the flag in hand and magically alive after running through a hallway of turrets.
