But let's say you find a significant amount of evidence from various sources (pictures, official orders, newspapers from the time, the signs at the camps, the existence of swimming pools for prisoners, pictures that show the German soldiers as skinny as the Jews, photos of gas chambers made of wood, math that can't possibly add up, etc.) And the doubt starts to seep in. Sure, the Germans did imprison Jews, but maybe they didn't intend to kill them in the beginning. Why did they encourage them to leave? And maybe the official numbers are propaganda for reasons you start to figure out.
